Predictions and thoughts on this one?

Pikeville has a pretty good team this season and hopefully Prestonsburg won't overlook them because they are a top 15 team in 1A. Pikeville will give Prestonsburg's secondary their first real test as Howard & company likes to move the ball through the air. Should be a good game but in the end I think Prestonsburg will be to much for Pikeville. I'll take Prestonsburg by 2 touchdowns.
Go Blackcats!

I agree BCA. The Panthers have a very talented squad and will be a tough opponent for the Blackcats. Michael Burchett should be able to exploit the Pikeville secondary without too many problems. This will open up opportunities for him to scramble and run the QB draw play, which has been pretty effective so far this season. I also look for Craynon and McKinney to combine for big numbers once again.
Best of luck to both teams!

Michael Burchett will have a big game. I also expect Pikeville to better after this game because they have had a few weeks to see how the system on offense works and see it in game situations. The QB when he has time has a beautiful thrown deep ball. I also think if pikeville wants to compete with the tougher school they need to thrown the ball more against them. I say 70/30. Then against teams that you know you should win against keep it balanced. I know balanced is the best way to keep it but pikevilles running game in the game against Holy Cross was pratically not even there. Pikeville has a good running back i believe he would excell out swing out and dump pass out of the backfield to give him space to run.

Blackcats win, but it will be close than most would think. A 14 point margin sounds about right.

Hard to get a handle on how good Pikeville is at this point. They have been blown out by a team that was way out of their league (Boyle Co.). Then they blew out a team (Phelps) that was obviously overmatched.
The best indicator so far is probably the game with Holy Cross, the opponent they've played so far closest to them as far as talent level. Pikeville did get beat by 18 points, but the game was closer than the score, and it was the first game under the new coach's system.
Prestonsburg, on the other hand, has been very impressive so far. They blew out two teams they were supposed to. And they notched big wins against two 3A powers in Belfry and Breathitt County. P-Burg is most definitely for real this year.
I would have to say that based on each team's season so far, the Blackcats have to be at least a 2 TD favorite.
