I was just thinking earlier, where would Trey Willis have fit in on this Belfry team had he not shredding his knee? And, is there any chance he will retun late this season?
Trey will be out for another 6+ months. He had surgery and from what I'm hearing, should be as good as new when he is released!!

Belfry Rolls!!!!

Cuppett my opinion is that if this series ends Pikeville would have to initiate that because Belfry enjoys beating Pikeville like they have done lately

Now Joe, are you trying to instigate some trouble???? LOLOL.....
IDK but I think at one time the Belfry/Pikeville rivalry was a decent one. Just because teams have "down" years doesn't mean they can't regroup and comeback!! Not saying that Pikeville is going to beat Belfry BUT, wasn't all the chatter this year about "Belfry having a down year"???? :eyeroll:

Pikeville wins in a close one

Boy, kinda sad to see such few responses to this thread. Maybe Joe Kinzer is right and this series should just be discontinued. I personally do not think it should, but you would think it would generate more interest than it has. Pikeville needs to step up and play some football and make this a rivalry again. It would be good for Pike County football if Pikeville can be competitive in this series again. It is hard to believe that a win over Allen Central could create such a buzz. How times have changed in Pikeville.

Oh yeah, I remember during the late 80's and early 90's the Belfry\Pikeville rivalry was intense. I remember one game in particular where Pikeville had a 42 game winning streak and three State Titles, WYMT carried that game live and throughout the week had interviews with players from both schools and one player in particular that stuck out in everyone's mind was Pikeville's DeAnthony Honaker. He said in an interview that they (Pikeville) we're gonna "Inflict Pain" on Belfry.....
Belfry walked away with a 42-7 victory

Hey Pride, your memory must be a little fuzzy. In 1989, Pikeville had a 33-game winning streak. They were 14-0 in 1987 and 15-0 in 1988 and they had won their first 4 games of '89. Belfry did indeed win the game, but I think the score was 33-24. The score is the only thing I am not positive on, but I believe I am right. Anyway, are you going to be at the panther, I mean, pig roast on Friday night?

Yeah, the 33 game winning streak was right, however the score I am pretty sure was 41 or 42-7..I tried to look it up on khsaa, but you can only view records back to 1999..And yeah, its been 20 years so the memory is not what it used to be...lol

Unfortunatly, I wont be there, I am camping out for madness tickets.

If Belfry can make a statement tonight they have a really good chance to build steam and confidence heading into the Sheldon Clark game.
