Some of the Black Bears sometimes have those moments where they forget what's going on and what it could mean for the team. Much like the cougars seems like when that happens with us it's at crucial time. Frustrating, but sometimes you just have to chalk it up to getting caught up in the game! I guess!

You are right if it happens occasionally, but this is getting to be an every week thing. It has to stop or at least diminish somewhat.

#4 and #5 both had 2 each against Perry Central. There was 5 total personal fouls on the Cougars in the first half of that game. I didnt see the Harlan game, but it sounds as if this is happening more than it should. 15 yards is not a small penalty, ecspecially in a close game where field position is key.

The only one I remember in HC game was one of the linemen took a cheap shot on the goal line and it really cost them. I don't remember 4/5 either one getting a personal foul in the game. I could be wrong.

All the personal foul calls were good calls in the Perry Central game. The only problem I had is it appeared that Perry Central was allowed to do the same thing with no penalty. This doesn't excuse LCC as two weeks in a row, penalties have killed them whether it be personal fouls or some other penalty. The specific player who commits them doesn't need to be discussed on this site as it allows ignorant,disgruntled, and disrespectful fans to attack individual kids.

I disagree. No one is specificly attacking a kid in this conversation. If someone commits a personal foul, ecspecially an unsportsmanlike penalty its a stat just like rushing yards, passing yards, etc. If not the refs wouldnt call out the player number when the foul is commited. (Which actually suprises me they do in high school)

This is a public forum, I challange you to find one without ignorant,disgruntled, and disrespectful fans. If a kid is being personally attacked im sure a mod will step in and lock the thread/ban the user.

LCC had several that was more concerned about giving the Bear runners the business down below after the whistle and extra curricular activities on the ground rather than performing their task. Well deserved personal foul calls. The Bears took it to them and moved on for the win. Good job Black Bears!!!

not at all....you have to factor in the wins in district....this will be a crazy district....perry was the favorite to win the district but letcher beat them....then harlan county beat letcher county.....this will be very interesting

you need to just hush.....it says alot about your character when you start saying its the coaches faualt.....ive played for coach whitaker and he can take anybody to the next level...he proved it at powell....powells never had anyone play college football...but in the last two years at powell...theyve had 5 players sign letters of intent and three on full scholarship...i kno your agrevated about the loss and its normal for a quarterback.....but a quarterback is a leader and you should be outside at the feild working on what you need to get better on...youll be the next tim couch if you let him coach you.....all you have to do is listen:Thumbs:

It also says a lot about your ignorance if you actually think the poster(CougarPride) is Logan Johnson. You need to do your homework before you make assumptions of who the poster is. Cougarpride is an adult. Logan is one of the classiest kids I have been around and I have never heard him say a negative or unkind word about anyone.

There is no way this district is going to end up like that.
Right now the district standings are
Whitley 2-0
Letcher 1-1
Perry 1-1
North 1-1
Harlan County 1-1
Clay 0-2

As of right now, Clay has pretty much eliminated thereselves, unless they role off two or three upsets and i dont see that happening.

Harlan really stirred things up by beatin LCC.

I see it being
1. Whitley- as long as they stay healthy, and get away from the flu.
and 2-5 could be anyone other than Clay. It's really a guessing game at this point. Even Whitley at the top spot is just a guess could be anybody.

Well the play did score, but was called back on a bad holding call on the wr to that side. And maybe that play was called because LCC was getting beat up front. I'm pretty sure that no one ever complained about Tom Osborne running the option at the goalline did they? The option as a great play because it forces the end defender to choose a player and then the offense reacts. It is a very common call at the goalline for most teams that run it. SO I would maybe stop bashing everybody and maybe support LCC since you are supposed to be a fan. Hey it was a close game, someone had to lose it happens. So if you're that knowledgeable as a coach then apply for a job next year. If you just like starting stuff then hush and let the coaches coach and put this team in position to win the disctrict.

That is not the speed option he was talking about and HC corner was tackled on the one you are talking about. HC also had at TD called back for a "bad" call. The play the poster was speaking of was the one where they tried to run it at the end and the HC corner came up and took out the pitch back and it was a fumble.

The line needs a lot of work. Who is the line coach? I never see any specific coach talking to the lineman during games.
