They weren't "prepared" the last game? I can't imagine that Hillard Howard didn't have his team prepared for the Black Bears.
The Bears are rip roaring and ready! Can't wait until FRIDAY!!!!!!!!

Rain and Thunder eqaul a thunderstorm! In many cases Thunderstorms contain a litlle Hail and the BlackBear defense will likely catch some of that on befalf of the Cougar offense!!

That's not rain and thunder, That's Tears and Moans after the Black Bears make a spectacle of Cougarama!

This could possibly be the best game in the state come Friday night. I'll take Letcher, 21-20

The Black Bears don't care if it is raining, muddy, wet and nasty, windy, sunny, or dry. They have not cared all year and they will be there with fire in their eyes come Friday Night. I say it again, the young LCC QB is talented, but IMO I don't think he will be able to handle the heat and pressure the Bears will be bringing. Both Howard and Larkey will have their teams prepared and it will be in the teams hands to carry it out. I remember the atmosphere at last years season opener, smells like Napalm in the morning.....I can't wait, it certainly will be a great battle. GO BLACK BEARS!!!!!

To be quite honest, i'm glad Whitley got the two seed. U believe LCC got a much tougher game for round two than Whitley did. What a game this ones gonna be.
11-11-2009, 01:08 AM
I feel that Whitley has it just as bad as LCC. I have knocked Pulaski all year and they have proven me wrong! Both games are going to be competitive! I think Whitley gets the win in the matchup. They will not lay over in the first half like PCC did! I would have bet anything that PCC won that game but the first half they just didn't show up!

BlackBearDenMother Wrote:Well boo-hoo, I hate your boys had to get a little mud on them, but the fact is that the Bears just outplayed the Cougars that night. Our defensive line dominated LCC's offensive line and put heavy pressure on your QB all night long in that mud and muck, so our defensive line outta be all over him like a cheap suit on that turf this Friday. :praise:
wow, your funny!!! I was just saying, Letcher Central plays 10 times better at home on the turf. Letcher Central had a BAD game that night, that was what I was trying to say. I know Harlan Co. had to play in the mud also, but when Letcher plays the way they did and you only beat them by 5, what do you think will happen if their offense plays an awesome game? Harlan County is a extremely good team, and they have gotten a lot better. I have nothing against Harlan County fans, I was taking up for you all on the Bell County/ Harlan County post. Just as you support your black bears, I support LCC and I think their the best team, just because I love the cougars. If Harlan County was playing anyone else I'd be for them. It should be a fun game. Lets keep this a respectable rivalry, one that is about good clean football, no point in hating each other. There are better teams to hate like Perry Co.

dontfeedthebears Wrote:I'm just throwing this out there. I was at the HC/LCC game the first time around, and it wasn't a big slosh pit of mud. You LCC fans crack me up using the "mud" excuse. I thought you ol' Whitesburg boys were rough and tough and mean. Sounds like that big nice turf field has made somebody a little soft. That softness showed the first time, and is gonna show again come Friday night. It hards to complete passes on your back. What if Harlan Co. brings a dump truck full of mud over to the turf and dumps it out? :thatsfunn
I love the MUD, I love playing football in the snow, mud, sleet, rain, whatever god makes it do that day. I was making my comments from a football standpoint LCC isn't use to playing on mud, not using that as an excuse but we suck in the mud plain and simple. Now back to your comments, I love playing on grass. I'm sure we can some of the old Whitesburg boy's back together to show you all how to really play ball in the mud. lol.

Chunk, I am gonna try and obtain a copy of the game film of the first game at HC and send to your front door . When you receive this film, I want you to notice how clear the numbers of every player of the field is at the end of the game (all of them are clear) . I want you to notice how many times players slipped due to the muddy conditions (0). I want you to notice how well you can see the lines on the field and the numbers. So, QUIT WITH THE MUD for goodness sakes. Deep down, you are just hoping and praying there was something in that first game that caused a 7 point output by your explosive cougars, but plain and simple, the only reason for that is the Filthy Animals of HC! I'm not predicting an outcome for the game Friday, even though I know the Black Bears will prevail, I'm just sick and tired of hearing about the first game and all the excuses (rain, mud, lack of preparation, coming out flat, etc.) List all those excuses along with the scores from all the games since then, and also all the LCC predictions for this game, staple them together, seal it in an envelope and mail it to the KHSAA. I'm still guessing when you look back to the schedule, there's gonna be a big "L" beside of @Harlan Co. And about gathering some of your Whitesburg boys together and showing us how to play in the mud, go ahead, I'm sure there's plenty of Evarts, Cumberland, and Cawood boys that'd love to join ya. Those same boys will be over the hill on Friday to witness the greatest show on Turf. We'd be more than pleased to catch up with ya after the game.

I thought you were gonna grill all us Black Bear fans some steak! What time are you starting?
I believe we'll be eating in the car on the way over there this time. We're gonna be pressed for time as we have one of our other sons practicing basketball after school.

Hey send me one! My son plays for LCC and I would like to have all games, even the ones they got beat........Ugh maybe that will change Friday night. I usually root for Harlan to win but I sure hope you cross the mtn in a sad mood...........

I ask for a copy of the games this year, but I was turned down because of a policy they had. Would love to have em though. Got a real good feeling about Friday. Will be a great game. I say this out of respect that no matter what happens, the Harlan Co fans are great, and yes we do talk smack, but it is in the spirit of the game. I for one have never blamed the mud. We got beat that day plain and simple, and it is over with. This is a new game, and this time regardless what happens, there is no excuse. Win or go home. It is a simple as that. Cougars if you want to wear that jersey again next week, then play like we know you can play. Let Harlan out man you, then this will be the last time you seniors wear that jersey. GO COUGARS!!! BEAT HARLAN CO!!!

well i want to say harlan but the more i think about it i am thinking lcc is going to win just because it is hard to beat a team twice especially if the first one was close..
