The teams of Pike Central,Harlan County,Lawrence County and Pulaski County have been really impressive this season and nothing can't be taken for granted.

Hey Sports Guys,

I think you guys do a great job. Im a SV alum and a major sport fan. You guys alway cover a large assortment of games in football and basketball. All of the time that you gave SV basketball last season was great. I personally think that with EKB SPORTS and WYMT Sports Overtime. This mountain region may get the best high school sports coverage than any other area in the state.Keep up the hard work. :thanks:

EKB said earlier they covered five games for Pike Central.
Which sparked me to research the News-Express seeing I have an online subscription.
They covered, SV, Boyd County, Knott County, Belfry, ER and Fleming County....Thats six games.... Not to bad considering you had two games in West Virginia and one at Henry County.....
Belfry led their coverage with 10 games, Pikeville had 8, SV and PC had six, East Ridge four and Phelps three.
That is pretty good balance.

I agree!! BTW, there was a nice piece in today's paper... One thing I want to mention also..... after I got thinking, I would say that it is just about impossible to get coverage of an away game to the paper and get it ready for production by the end of a game. You would HAVE to depend on the "home" teams media coverage team to help out! Nice work ANE... I know how hard the sports writers work as I've fed them a few times... (wink-wink).... You can't be in 4 places at one time and do the same amount of spread on each team!!

phs1986 Wrote:I was NOT implying that EKB didn't do their job... WHAT I was trying to get across is with the right kind of backing, PC would NOT have to rely on ANE to support/and or/give media coverage to their program or kids. EKB does a GREAT job (although, bucslover is now on a STRICT calorie count) and I bet they would find a way to broadcast IF the financial backing came in, in support of the program....

IF you all think ANE is bad though... pick up a WDN... Belfry is about 3 minutes down the road, you can send the information in, and there is still no coverage what so ever! That newspaper flat out sucks!!! I do think the medical leader gives PC their due as they do other teams in the county.

Agree. That paper(W.D.N.) is just a shadow of what it once was. Live within two miles of the place, but will buy A.N.E. everytime.

Well...you might as well shut this down.

Considering in today's News Express they had a full front page story based about the Mason County victory.

Before you rake over the coals please read what I’m saying and try to understand it from a coaching aspect. Identifying one player over another one or glorifying one particular player only builds animosity among a team. There Coach is pretty smart if you think about it. It doesn’t matter about the stats and it is best if a team lays low and don’t draw to much attention to themselves. Coaches can talk about stats during their banquet. Yes I do agree ALL media should address the success of their local teams but it all will come out. The kids know what they have done and they should be proud of themselves and not looking for someone to tell them how good they are. I hope I have come across in an appropriate manner. Go PCC you guys should hold your heads high. Good luck in the future.:worthy:
