How about a double for Lyons in the 4th and a single for Burchett in the 3rd for the Tigers?

Sorry Charlie, don't forget Ethan Daniel's hit either or McDonald's Double for Pikeville.

I was just posting the guys with multiple hits and RBIs and that's what I'm going to continue to do. Just a quick run down.

You know as well as I do. That baseball is a game of nothing but stats. I know they work their butts off more than anyone. BUT, to list all stats is crazy. Why do we need to know which kid had a BBs, Ks, Sac Bunts, Sac Fly, DPs, HBPs, SBs, CS, B to S ratio, Es. We don't.

Look all I did was put a quick rundown of the game and the pertinent info. If you people can't see that and can't appreciate that. How bout this...you guys can just wait till Wed or Fri and get the paper and get what little info you can on what ever games you can.

Hook. Your thread ,post and your pertinent information. I certainly defend your right to that opinion. However I felt that the single by Burchett in the third and the double by Lyons in the 4th was pertinent in the sense that it kept the Tiger momentum going and helped keep a fine Pikeville team from getting "OffTheHook".

They were and Big A's was a shot. And the ball that McDonald hit, I thought was gone. But, like I said, I was just giving a quickie and figured I would leave it to the sports journalist to break it down inning by inning.

Jackson Surprised me with how well he pitched. All in All it was a well played game for the Tigers.

No surprise here. Maybe some reflections because of the time of year. Jackson is a real dependable pitcher when in the grove and will do extremely well this season. Showed real well in the A.C. Scrim. I knew this type of game was coming but figured a little later. He had a good game last year against a fine L.C. team on the road, but I felt was pulled prematurely? Coaches call however but we might have gone 2-0 against the dogs.

Congrats Paintsville

Jacob Hamilton will be someone to watch out for when he gets older. He pitches in the low 80s and he's an 8th grader.

Jacob Hamilton is gonna be a nice pitcher, but he DOES NOT THROW IN THE 80's. He was gunned at LC in scrimmage 74-76 mph and he did hit 79 twice but they hit the backstop nowhere around the plate. He is gonna destroy his arm also if he doesnt start using the legs. Looks as though he is all about trying to hit these rediculous numbers that people say he can throw. His dad even tells people low 80's, he might be more concerned about location and changing speeds than trying to blow his arm out. The kid can be special but he is an eighth grader and let him develop at a normal pace and he will throw mid 80's in a couple years or so, push him and watch him have arm problems.

From what I have witnessed, right now he is a Thrower not a Pitcher, but he is young and has time to develop if he does not hurt his arm.

Dear Commanche.......This is Sam, Jacob's dad. I have a pretty good idea of who you are, and I would appreciate it if you would have your facts straight before making comments about Jacob. He was clocked on 10 pitches by Doug Bates, pitching coach for UVA Wise, former pitcher, and regional scout for the Atlanta Braves organization. Jacob topped out at 82 mph and was consistant at 79-80. I think it is sad to even put a gun on a pitcher in March when playing in 38 degree weather and try to make an issue of it. As for Jacob throwing his arm out, he has only two pitches that he is allowed to throw, fastball and change up. As for the comment about him not throwing with his legs, that shows how much you know about pitching. Jacob works out with Bates twice a week during the off season and he has no issues with his mechanics. If you are that concerned with Jacob's mechanics, feel free to call Doug and let him know that you think there are problems.

I also read your other post about Jacob on another thread. I help coach because Coach Priode asked me to. I suggest if you have a problem with that you talk to him. I think the only problem you have with Jacob is that he is a 13 year old playing at the varsity level. Also, if you know anything about being an athlete, there is always pressure to perform. That comes with the territory. I do push Jacob on and off the field, and he handles it with maturity. That's what good athletes do. Jacob doesn't have to be an impact player on this team because they have a team full of good players. He will contribute nicely though. It takes a team to win not just one player, but I feel very pleased that you have taken such an interest in Jacob. Anytime you would like to talk baseball again don't post it here.....talk to me at the field!

all the players are kids, but jacob is really a kid...he is in eighth grade. I personally think that he is up there with the best pitchers in the 15th maybe top 3...he is going to be a handfull to handle come toury time. I look for this kid to be a difference maker for the panthers....I also think that Sam is good coach and a great help for the panthers. He was a good coach when he helped at Pike Central and still is..Hang in there guys! and good luck the rest of the season...

From what i see, the future looks great for these Panthers.
