Johnson Central
QB J.K. Hall
FB Tanner Bratton
RB J.J. Jude
RB ???
Could put Ross Sanor at QB and put J.K. Hall at RB. Plenty of other options with younger kids that could suprise.

I seen some Cory Davenport highlights on another thread and he looked like he would be a nightmare for any opposing defence. Good Choice!

In terms of the best backfields it will be clearly Bell County, Johnson Central, and a veteran Sheldon Clark team IMO.
It will be interesting to see what kind of season the following backfields have, if for nothing else for the sake of mystery:
1. Shelby Valley- One of the top producing backfields in kentucky returns relatively in tact. Can they duplicate their success?
2. Belfry- Year in, year out one of the elite backfields in kentucky must replace Thomas Varney who practically carried the team. Lots of young talent but will Belfry be "down"?
3. Breathitt County- How will the powerhouse program fare sans Fugate and Haddix?

Rockcastle County:
Clark Rowe and John L Saylor.
It may be the ONLY thing that Rockcastle has next year but those two will do well.

I am somewhat more familiar with SC than the others mentioned, and I do believe that they will be exciting to watch this coming season. They have a good group of talent returning, e.g., KP, Austin, Avery, BJ, Mikie, Chase, Tyler, and possibly Taylor will see some action in the backfield.
Now, I would like to mention that SC has a very formidable contingent of linemen returning, and without them, the backs would not be very exciting.
Chris Sloan, Channing Smith, Corey Crum, and Taylor Chapman, depending on where he fits into the picture, are some of the young men that will be in the forefront for SC. And there are probably others that I have missed and I apologize for the omission.
I look forward to a good, solid 2010 season for the Cardinals.

Look for good numbers running the "belly" in Powell County. Returning will be Derek Taulbee, Elliot Hale, and Daylan Charles in the backfield.

I dont know if you guys consider Greenup Co. in the Mountains or not, But GC should be stacked in the backfield.
RB-Lyle
RB-Marsh
RB-Troxler (if he is eligible)
FB- Hampton and Kitchen
Look for huge #'s out of Marsh and Lyle.

Kelly Hayes is another returnee that was not mentioned; I would think he'd help the cause.

Clay County has two nice backs, who, if they were on different teams, would be mentioned easily with some of these other kids. Clay County had a very poor record last season so they did not get lots of recognition. Even if Hooker plays football this year, they need to keep feeding those two the ball. Noah Reed is one, I am not sure of the name of #34 but he can play too.

Cody Taylor and Marcus McMillian, both juniors, return as a thunder and lightning combo for Harlan County this season. Harlan County looks to have a good mix and power and speed coming up from the middle school level, also.

Best backfield name you've yet to hear but will this year: Dalton Overbay, FB/LB, Harlan, Sophomore

Bell Co will have the best backfield from the mountains, hands down. Davenport is a good athlete...

Considering the fact they have 4 returning lineman back, Hall is moving to fullback this year I expect them to have a great year. To replace Hall on the line they are moving Blair their starting center last year to left guard which is probably a better position for him, considering he is 6'2" and 265 I expect him to really shine this year.

There is no doubt JCHS has the best back field as a team and has been for the last 3 or 4 years stats are not always turned in from what I here.

Lewis County will have a deep backfield as well with RB's Laithon Davis, Kristian Conway, Nick Ruark, and Cory Christy. And FB's Jonny Everman, Kasey Riley, and Dylan Sapp.

South Laurel should have a very good one
QB Tyler Vaughn
RB'S Nic Miller
Chase McWhorter
Jordan Elliott

Don't know where you have been looking but they are turned in the usually lead the state in rushing.

Except when they run into stingy defenses....
