Terrence Jones will sign tomorrow (5/19)
#1
Wednesday marks a deadline of sorts for Jefferson senior Terrence Jones, the McDonald's All-American who has yet to sign a basketball letter of intent.

The NCAA's regular signing period for basketball ends Wednesday, meaning it is the final day a school can sign a player from the class of 2010 to a letter of intent. On April 30, Jones announced he was going to Washington but didn't sign with the school. Jones has since said he is trying to decide between Washington and Kentucky.

Contacted by phone Tuesday, Jones -- a 6-foot-9 guard/
forward and two-time Oregonian Class 5A player of the year -- said he "was definitely going to sign tomorrow" but didn't indicate which school he was choosing.

If Jones doesn't sign Wednesday, he can elect to sign a financial aid agreement with a school in the future, if it is offered. A financial aid agreement binds the school to the player, but the player is not committed to the school. In fact, Jones could sign financial aid agreements with multiple schools and choose one school at a later date.

The Oregonian has reported that Jefferson forward, Terrence Jones will sign tomorrow. Jones did not say who he was signing with, although he claims that he is still committed to Washington.

Chances are rumored to be good for Kentucky, but don't get your hopes up.

The family is saying Kentucky and the Coach now says Washington. The Seattle Times spoke with Pat Strickland today. The conversation is of course talking about where Terrence Jones will finally go to college.

efferson coach Pat Strickland shed light on the second question that has captivated fans on Montlake and in Lexington, Ky.

"I've been talking with him the last couple of days — with him and his mom — and he told me he'll get it done (Wednesday), and in my opinion, I think he'll choose Washington," Strickland said Tuesday night. "Kentucky is a great institution, but I just think at the end of the day Terrence will choose a situation where the guys that are coming back on the team are familiar with winning.

"And that's the unknown factor with Kentucky. Yeah, they've got blue-chip players and everything, but it's still an unknown factor that they're going to pan out on the college level."

WOW!!! Cal is a miracle worker!!! That class is just about as good as any other year with Vargas and Jones added to the mix.
