Harry Potter
#1
I don't know about you all but I love these movies. I didn't think I would but I sat down and watched the first one when it came out and it was great. I must say the newest one was the best by far. It seems like they just keep getting better and better. What do you all think about Harry Potter?
#2
I have been wanting to watch the first one so that I can watch the rest, but everytime I start to, I talk myself out of it.
#3
I started reading these books in 8th grade, and I'm now a Freshman in college. I know, I'm a dork. But I have read all the books at least twice. The movies are good, but oh my God, you HAVE to read the books, if you enjoy the movies you will flip when you read the books because they give you so much more.

It's worth seeing, when I started watching the first one I felt like a young child but once the movie started I relized that it was for people of all ages.

I'm going to come to your alls houses and make you read the books.

I've heard the books are great by a number of people and I own one but I read like crap so it would take me 10 years to read one of the books. The books are HUGE! lol

Most are in pretty big print though. Only the last 2 are long. If you have trouble reading, try getting the books on tape.
#8
I've got the Goblet of Fire. It's so big i think it could eat me.
#9
Haha, well Order of the Phoenix is even bigger. But the first three aren't even half the size of the one you have now.
#10
Well I might go out and get those. If they are a lot smaller that is.
#11
The Harry Potter books are actually better than the movies and everyone should read them. Ive read all of them and trust me they might look big but the vocabulary is simple and you can fly right through the books. But of course I too am a nerd......haha

When I worked in the Drug store at Pikeville, we couldn't keep these books in stock. They were gone within an hour or two of us stocking them on the shelf.

Yeah, well try being 16-17 and standing in line for it at midnight with a bunch of little kids. I felt so uncool.

Were you the only one that age standing in line?

I'm not in the Harry Potter Generation...sorry! I think my 3rd year old may like them in a few years though...
#16
I know people older than you that read them and love them.
#17
I'm sure there are people older than me who read them...I was merely stating that I was not brought up with Harry Potter.... However, I am an avid reader...I like Dean Koontz, Patricia Cornwell, John Grisham...stuff like that.

Dean Koontz is my hero. I have read so many of his novels that I stopped counting.

I watched one of the movies once so I could pass an AR test and it was OKAY I figured I'd just say screw the movie and try to find some cheats in the morning, but I actually enjoyed it alot more than I thought I would, never really was a big Harry Potter fan though, they must be pretty good books, made that Rowling woman a billionaire.

What will we do with out Harry?

A fan of the Harry Potter series, started writing novels based upon Harry's son, James. J.K. Rowling approves of the fans work and likes it.

I cant get into it at all.
Not much of a dork

LWC Wrote:???? I am a little confused by that statement.

She has sued numerous people over copying or trying to extend her novels. But she loves these and approves the fan written novels .

I've been on BGR for almost three years and finally there's a Harry Potter thread!
If y'all like the movies you HAVE to read the books. They put a few of the movies to shame. I hate when they change stuff in the movies or don't include it at all. But Harry Potter is the second best story ever written to the Bible!
