Final from Stonecrest.
Both Pitchers, Jackson and Burton threw fantastic games. Defense was not a theme, however. Both teams had costly mistakes.
Both teams put the bat one the ball fairly well for the level of pitching they were facing. Clark Keene really came through in the clutch for Pikeville with 3 RBI's. Colby Burchett was 2-2 with a 2B and a nice play on a slow roller for Paintsville.
Miller had a big 2B for Pikeville as well as Stewart and Pelphrey for Paintsville.
Fun game to watch, even though it was a blazing 94 degrees with no clouds.
Pikeville improves to 34-3 on the year and sets a new Pikeville High School record for total wins in a season.
The Panthers will play the winner of Prestonsburg and Pike Central tomorrow night at 6:00 PM.

Very proud of the Panthers!!!!!!
I thought it was a mistake not throwing Cecil against a hot and much improved Paintsville team, but that is why I'm not paid to coach haha...
Good luck Panthers and beat those Blackcats!:notworthy

Burton will also be available Thursday (From what I was told) as Hamilton came in and got the save today in the 7th.
Which brings me to this question, can someone posted definitive post-season pitching rules?

Here is the official chart required to be kept in the scorebook to verify pitch limitations are followed, notice the rules at the bottom of the chart:

Also, from the official tournament handbook for KY baseball:
XIII) Special Tournament and Regular Season Rules
A) Pitching Limitations
1) For purposes of this rule, delivery of a minimum of one (1) pitch
constitutes having pitched in one inning.
2) A pitcher may pitch in a maximum of nine (9) innings in one
(1) day, but not more than fifteen (15) innings in any seven (7)
day period.
3) If a pitcher pitches in three (3) innings to five (5) innings, in
one (1) day, that pitcher shall have one (1) calendar day of
rest beginning with the day following the first day a pitch is
thrown.
4) If a pitcher pitches in six (6) innings, that pitcher shall have two
(2) calendar days of rest beginning with the day following the
first day a pitch is thrown.
5) If a pitcher pitches in seven (7) or more innings in one day, that
pitcher shall have three (3) calendar days of rest beginning with
the day following the first day a pitch is thrown.
6) This limitation affects regular season and postseason play.
Hope that helps, buddy.
