I heard a rumor that East Ridge has hired a new head coach, any truth to this??

Heard they hired Chris Lawson, former Pikeville coach. If so, good for them and good for him. He has been out of coaching, but coached at Pikeville for 9 years and won 4 regional titles. He is the best coach in the mountains, in my opinion. Hopefully, he can turn it around up there.

If true then wow is all I can say. Moral standards have been thrown completely out the door with the hires of Lemaster and now Lawson. If only the parents knew what these two guys have done in the past. I guess winning is more important though.

Surely you know better than to believe everything you hear, I am sure its more rumor than fact..I have lived in Pikeville all my life and I am sure it is blown out of proportion..

Guess that's why he just resigned for no reason right?

I could careless about this guy from Pikeville. Did Spradlin step down all together? Or forced out?

Not sure why Lawson stepped down but he has proven to be one heck of a coach!

Good hire for East Ridge. Hate to see Dave go. He was my all-star coach in Little League many moons ago.

I will say this, if Chris Lawson is coaching ER then the rest of the region better watch out. Regardless of the amount of talent he is given, he can and will out coach anyone in the region, hands down. It is a complete shame that Chris has been shut out of baseball all these years, and i'm sure he is wanting to come back with a bang? Good luck to him

A complete shame? Do you know why he has been shut out the last few years?

Yes I know exactly why, and it wasn't anything even remotely close to what some of these other guys have been caught doing, and for God's sake Pikeville College hired Rob Taylor after what he got caught doing at Pike Central, and sadly he was not rehabilitated? I think because of what happened with Coach Taylor at Pike Central that Pikeville felt they had to follow the same way, even though the two situations were not even close to being related. Personally, I don't like the guy, but that still doesn't mean he's not one of the best coaches, if not the best coach, in eastern kentucky(and that includes all the colleges). Now I do think because he has been out of the game for awhile that there could be some things that come up he's not use to, but I have no doubt he'll adapt quickly. If he gets a chance to stay at ER for the next five years, and with the talent level being as bad as it is in eastern kentucky, I think he has a very good shot at bringing ER a region title? I think those kids and parents will be excited to get somebody in there that has experience winning big games? If I were Coach Priode i'd be staying away from ER as much as possible until the post season, haha! He's very good at finding a teams weakness and pouncing on it.
