Congrats SW.
Whitley came out and scored the first 7 and then it was like somebody slapped us in the face and we rolled over.
This game reminded me of last years game, only the good game fell into SW hands.
This Whitley team loses nothing.
The one senior we did have on defense tonigh got run over like he stole something and showed no heart.
Whitley for some reason had 4 kids out in this game for injuries and other reasons. While this dont sound like a lot, 3 of them played both ways. So in reality, we were without 7 starters. No excuses here though, as even without them we didnt play for crap tonight.
Cant wait till next year with Bryant and Ysidro returning plus an incoming 8th grade class that could very well see some major playing time.
And BTW, Coach, when its 3rd and 28, you cant run Bryant up the middle everytime and expect to get a 1st down. We were in 3rd and long all night and ran it up the middle.
The one thing that killed us more than anything and really killed our spirit is that SW scored on 3 4th downs and converted on 3 third and twentys.
Good luck the rest of the way SW, you earned this one.

Boston Bryant played a heck of a game tonight. He was extremely difficult to bring down all-game long.
And yeah, I totally agree RIUTG, you can't run the ball on 3rd and 28.

SW done a great job on Bryant.
Held him under his average, but he would still get yards on anyone.
SW had a good gameplan tonight. We cant stop the pass.

So hows Southwesterns field?

A lot better than PCC's lol.
Nah, the field has held up quite well. Its even still green.
You can tell SW has a great drainage system there and the football field sets higher up.
Also, ive always loved the stand at SW, i wish Whitley had those same stands. The big home stand and still a reasonable visitors section.

It's not too bad. I was watching Sports OT and it doesn't muddy like PCC....It doesn't look bad at all.

Southwestern may be on there way to Bowling Green.................Whitley needs to find some speed and some major help on defense.

Glad to see the Warriors come out and take care of business!! Andy Stephens improves his record to 7-0 after taking over the helm during the season!! I think the sky is the limit for this team!

IMO, PCC is a bad matchup for SW.
PCC is the exact opposite of WC.
IDK if SW has played anyone who plays the style of PCC and i think it could hurt them.
The one reason SW did move the ball is because Whitley had noone step us on defense.
You better believe Robinson will for PCC though and Powell will not get the yards he did tonight.
Im gonna take PCC in a ten point game over SW next week.

PCC may have a better defense than Whitley County but, I highly doubt that it is as good as Christian County's.

I highly doubt Christian County played that game to win.
It is possible that SW could beat them.
However, CC obviously didnt come to play and from what ive read didnt have all of there players due to suspensions.

If that happens wouldn't it be two and done? I mean PCC will have played two playoff games.

I've read several of your messages, & obviously, this senior class is not up to your standards. However, I saw Whitley play this year & from what I can find, their kicker, McCoy, is someone you have never mentioned. I believe he is a senior. He may have been one of, if not the best, kicker outside of Louisville.
In scoring 46 (9 field goals) of the teams total 230 points, it appears that he was 20 percent of your total team scoring. But I guess, a soccer player who doesn't do anything but kick, isn't considered a football player by you!

Major congrats to Coach Stephens and SW-especially considering what they have went through. Sounds like Whitley is young and ready to come back better next year.

Ive mentioned Whitley's kicker several times this year.
Ask LWC how many times ive defended Whitley this year for using thie kicker to kick field goals when being blown out to help this kid try and get a scholarship.
We do lose nothing this year.
Look at the rest of our stats. How many other seniors on this team contibuted?
I watched one of our D Backs, who is a senior get beat like he stole something all night against SW and get ran over by Powell.
To be honest, we lose nothing, we will be much better next year.
And, FYI, kickers are only important when your teams on the 20 with 1 second left and down by 2.
Kickers dont win ball games, but to say i havent mentioned this kid time and time again this year is absurd.

This is one of the most unwise statements I have ever seen from RIUTG.....I am almost shocked as his usually has good insight. Kickers are very important and McCoy won a couple of games for the Colonels this season and will be missed although they do have another kicker who is going to be pretty good too. If kickers are not important, how come kicking into the endzone is so important if you can do it. I remember Bell with Merrick and he kicked into the endzone about 85% of the time.
Whitley also loses several of their offensive linemen, but with Bobby Gibbs as the offensive line coach they should be fine. As far as skill players they do not lose anything and will have some young kids who are going to make them better with competition in practice and challenge for playing time. I think they should be better and will continue to improve for the next couple of years.

Whitley did start 4 seniors on the OL this year when all were healthy. Thats alot to replace even if you dont consisder them good.

Is SW a run first type team or more like Perry Central?
