Great HS football game. I can't believe how many HC fans were saying HC by 20 plus and one guy said HC would be playing their JV team in this game. Thats why they play the game. You must always respect your opponent, if not it could come back to bite you on the !!!

Just what High school sports are all about at this time of year. Congrats to both teams and sad that one team moves on when both teams leave so much effort out on the field such as tonight's game.
Southwestern and Coach Anderson moves on with a (10-3) record while Harlan County closes out a good seaon at (11-2).

First off, I would like to say congrats to all of Black Bear Nation on a great season!! You guys have nothing to be ashamed of and I am sure that you all will be in this game again next year!!
I predicted this one perfectly! This was the perfect game for Southwestern as they have a great run defense and it showed tonight as Harlan's MacMillian was held to 48 yards on the ground and as a team, Harlan only had 149 rushing yards which is less than half of what their per game average. Harlan's plan was to punch SW in the mouth but, I don't think they were prepared to get punched back. Both teams played tough hard nosed football and it showed. It was the back and forth game that I was expecting it to be! When it was needed Mr. Clutch(Alan Williams) comes through and hauls in a beautiful catch to score on the first play in overtime and then then Southwestern's defense comes through with a fumble recovery to seal the deal! This was the best football game that I have seen in years!!

Great season for the black bears!! Very impressed on the way they played!!
Harlan Co. did not have an answer up front for SW #52 Lewis, he made great plays all night!! He caused that last interception in regulation.
The Warriors made great plays when they needed it tonight!!

After watching SW in the first round against Whitley, i knew there was something about this team that could get them there, but ill be the first to say i honestly didnt think SW could beat HC.
Looks like they should have kicked Dale out a long time ago and made stephens the coach years ago, hes got these boys on a roll.
Goodluck SW and represent this region well.
I firmly believe SW can beat Anderson County and hopefully we'll get to see that Friday and if that happens a trip to Bowling Green is next!
