Trinity High School senior Nathan Dieudonne, who helped the school to its first state basketball title last weekend, has been named Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Kentucky.

The 6-foot-7 Dieudonne was named MVP of the Sweet 16 after collecting 70 points and 33 rebounds in the four games for the Shamrocks. He had 12 points, 12 rebounds and two blocked shots against Scott County in the final.

The first Gatorade basketball Player of the Year ever from Trinity, Dieudonne has signed to play at Boston University. He averaged 14 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.3 assists a game for the Shamrocks. He hit 57.8 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from three-point range.

Congrats to the young man!! Anyone know why he chose to go to BU? I thought he would be able to do better than that.

BC is a damn good school in a power conference. He's not going to the NBA. He is going to get a great education.

I dont know why he choose BU but he signed earlier in the year. If he would have waited he would more than likely had a lot more and better offers.

Um, wrong school in Boston.

He is going to Boston UNIVERSITY, not Boston COLLEGE.

Huge difference, especially in terms of conference alignment.
