mercer is open AGAIN. What is it with that place? Jaggers, left and the program fell back 10 years. They need to get a coach who can fight the administration and the parents. My vote is to go and get Jaff Hester from Boyle or Jerry Perry from Danville two coaches who have HC experience. They both don't give a crap about parents or administration trying to run the program. They will get after the kids and keep them in line. By the way they are winners...with multiple state titles. Just a thought..

Jaggers last year in 2008, Mercer went 6-6 and were their 5A district champs and I remember fans calling for his head more or less. I'm guessing that 6-6,District Champ season looks pretty dang good right now.

I agree about Hester and Perry. Two very quality individuals and great coaches. I don't see either of those happening, though. I'd say you will see Jeff Hester frequenting Annapolis, Maryland quite a bit over the next four years to watch his son who signed with Navy in February. Jerry Perry has a son who is a sophomore or junior at Danville right now. Both would be great hires, though.

I think that Shadon Brown would be good one at Mercer Co. I don't see that happening after what happened before.

Coach Brown although he had success at the high school level has moved on to the college level as an assistant at Wofford in SC. I am sure the money might bring him back, but other than that I think he is happy at the college level.

I would suggest Perry. Leave Hester where he is.

Ledford would be a great head coach, he has the best defensive mind of any coach I have watched. He has done a great job whever he has been. If you want to win, the school needs to approach him, but unfortunatly I herd he has taken a Defensive job for Franklin County. I hope he stays, but if a better offer came along he might be interested.

Poynter is an interesting name. Seems like he got the raw deal at Bourbon because he did a really good job there. Best of luck to him and to Mercer.
