Great game last night at Stonecrest. These two teams have played 2 times on the year, and both have been great games.
Magoffin put 4 runs across in the second inning on 4 Prestonsburg errors. Prestonsburg scored 2 runs in the third and 2 in the fourth. Game was tied at 4 after 7. Magoffin scored 2 runs in the top of the 9th to take the lead, but Prestonsburg came back with 3 in the bottom of the 9th to get the hard fought victory.
Adam Griffith pitched extremely well for the Blackcats. Had (unofficial) 10 strikeouts in the 6 innings he pitched. Kazee also pitched well for Magoffin Co. Man, did Prestonsburg struggle at first with his flutterball...After this past weekend's games for the Blackcats where they faced pitchers throwing in the mid to upper 80's, Kazee really was an effective pitcher against the Blackcats.
Gotta say this for Magoffin County. I really like their kids, their coach, and how the coach puts the players in postion to win games.
The Blackcats have been struggling with errors and a general lack of hitting over the past few games. Here's hoping they get over this going into the All "A" game against Hazard Monday night.

Magoffin has given Prestonsburg all they can handle twice now.
Errors are going to happen from time-to-time, but if they expect to make it to Whitaker Bank Park for the All 'A', then they'll certainly have to really keep them limited and not allow any unearned runs.
Congrats Blackcats!
