Hazard bounces back tonight after a very flat outing and a tough loss to Harlan Co last night. The bats showed up and Hazard puts together another great game. Austin Johnson gets the win on the mound. 1st time watching Letcher this season but they were holding back somewhat on pitching to be fresh for District. They are way better than this score indicates.

They're better than the score indicates? They had 1 hit, if they would have pitched their ace, they still would have lost? Hazard is just that much better than letcher

And the hit didn't come off hazards starter. It the dawgs would have left Johnson in for the whole 5 innings then there probably wouldn't have been a hit at all. So yea Letcher was holding back some pitching but do was hazard. The hits were 14-1 in favor of hazard. I agree with BigRedNation, 1 hit isn't winning you a ball game no matter who is on the mound

If Letcher throws their ace Hazard probably does win, my point was just that the score wouldn't be 17-0. If Hazard played and hit the way they did against Harlan last night they would have been in a struggle to even win. Letcher did just have one hit, and it was against the Conley kid. They pulled Johnson I assume to have him and Whitaker available for the District.

Letcher is 23-11 (per KHSAA). They can't be, and aren't, as bad as this score indicates, imo.
With that said, though, when both teams are on top of their games Hazard probably would prevail.
But don't ever count Coach Bryan Dean out when it comes tournament time. He usually pull a few rabbits out of his hat. He has 2 regional championship trophies as evidence.

Don't get too cocky guys(and girls). Last year, Letcher Central lost to Hazard(14-7), Powell County(13-1) and Knott County three times. Who won the region? Oh yeah, Letcher County Central. So before you get comfortable thinking that they have no shot to beat you, think again. I respect Hazard and they have a good team, but when it comes to tournament time, they have a history of underachieving and Letcher Central has a history of overachieving.
