Pulaski County 2012
#1
What will Coach Hines team look like in 2012. What does there schedule look like, How many starters do they have returning? I have herd that Goins has been kicked off the team and was trying to transfer to somerset. is that true?
#2
Goins is anybody's guess, Hines has size and a lot of speed, at least 8 players running below a 4.6 40. That being said he hasn't been very successful with an offensive which has only 15 plays and the defensive scheme is the worse in the state. We shall see if he is capable of making some changes to utilize what he has. Pulaski has a lot of talent, but young

42 wins in the last 5 seasons. 2 District Titles. One Regional Title. One Region Runner up. One "Final Four" appearance. 2 District Runner-Up Titles. Numerous players signing college scholarships. Not much success, huh? Who you been watching?

Yeah really

As of now, Goins is at Pulaski and I'm pretty sure he will be staying there. And my thoughts on Pulaski this season; well, the Maroons are very young, so I think this will be a rebuilding year. That being said, for the next few years, Pulaski will be the team to watch out for in the region. Go ahead and mark it down!

It is my understanding that Goins wants to come back to Somerset, however IMO it would be in his best interest to stay at Pulaski County.

That is a lot of speed, very few HS kids are legit 4.5 40 guys by electronic timing. If Pulaski has 8...WOW!!!

I say it's because Pulaski doesn't have 8 of them...LOL. Pulaski will be talented but very young. I think this this will be a growing season for them starting with a very talented Rowan County.

If PC has 8 players running sub 4.6 they won't lose a game. The Bulls hit meter just hit 10 on the scale.:lame:
#11
They do not have 8 sub 4.6 guys. As a matter of fact they probably only have about 4 who are in the 4.6 range -high 4.6 at that- and 1 4.5 guy. Most of their skill guys are in the 4.7-4.8 range. They are small, slow and inexperienced. I will be surprised if they can find the bus let alone actually compete. Good Luck Maroons, you are gonna need it.
#12
I thought Pulaski was supposed to be young last season. Did they have that many seniors?
#13
3 offensive line man, and their TE. Their whole starting D line and LB-ing corps. 2 starting DB's. A starting safety/ WR and starting Corner/RB.... Most of these guys were 2 way starters.

Who is the frontrunner for district 7?
Ive heard some good things about Madison Southern.

Im still gonna say Southwestern.

Even with all SW lost, is the rest of the district gonna be down that bad?
#17
Southwestern is going to be extremely down this year. A lot of the good players that were supposed to be back are no longer playing, so my front-runner is Madison Southern.
#18
I personally don't know a lot about Madison Southern but, as I have stated before and GetChili stated here, Pulaski will be the team to beat in the District for several years to come! I think that Pulaski will still have a decent season this year and the opportunity to steal the district, IMO. They were very young last year and they got some much needed experience and they're going to have a lot more talented youngsters coming up from the middle school ranks this year as well. Should be interesting to see.

LOSERS QUIT WHEN THEY'RE TIRED, WINNERS QUIT WHEN THEY HAVE WON

When Pulaski is supposed to be good, they aren't. When no one expects much, they are good.

Watch out for the Maroons this year...could surprise several teams.

IMO opinion, Madison Southern is pre-season #1 with PC at #2
#22
Pulaski will still be the team to beat IMO, too many athletes.
#23
Just a question going throughout town...Do you all think Aaron Smith or Riley Hall will be playing QB this fall? I've heard Aaron Smith will be since Riley Hall just seems a little too small at this point. What is everyone else's thoughts on the QB position for the Maroons?

I agree with you Chili.

This is what i was thinking, and i see these two battling it out for a district championship.
The interesting thing is going to be who will finish in the fina two spots.

South has a pretty good QB but very little help, especially on the defensive side.

Larkey is doing well at North, but he just cant get the big time athletes that he should be. I read in the paper the other day that they had like 70 kids out playing right now, but even Larkey said he expects to see that go down once the season really gets started and kids see there not playing as much as theyd like, which is understandable, it happens everywhere.

SW will still be decent, but i dont expect them to have a season like last year. It wasnt a fluke, but teams come together like that once in a blue moon, those kids definitely overachived IMO.

And ive heard Lincoln County will be really young and inexperienced.

My guess is the PC and Madison Southern get the top two spots with SW coming in at third and North or South finishing in fourth.

I bet you're thinking the same thing I am. If Madison Southern is good enough to win District 7, then Whitley County has a very good chance of playing in the regional championship game.
I just don't see it though. Teams with no tradition coming off 2-8 seasons don't win district championships.
#27
Well in Class 5A District 7, things are different. The district is going to be down once again, so that's why I think Madison Southern has such a good shot. Plus with Damien Harris, who has already been offered by Michigan, lined up a RB, the Eagles have a good shot.

lol, :truestory:

All joking aside, last year District 7 was suppose to be down and they wiped the floor with us in the playoffs, well SW did anyways.

I do think it will be tough for MS to win a district looking at there past, but 99% of people probably didnt think SW was going to win district last year, much less region.
I do think Harlan County is the frontrunner in district 8 with Whitley behind them, so like you were referring to, Whitley will most likely get the winner of district 7 in the second round, and to be honest, when your in the playoffs, nothing is a safe bet.
#29
Don't forget SL has some big time players back also, and they got a very fast guy who transferred back to SL from Knox Cent.
#30
I still say PC will be tough to beat, after watching these kids for the past few yrs, they have the athletes to play with about anyone
