Is it me or is the mountains down this year. :Sad04:
Looking at alot of the schedules I don't see many really GOOD games. Bell vs Lex. Cath, Belfry vs Ashland, Belfry vs. Johnson Cent., Harlan Co. vs Bell. Outside these teams the rest of the mountains appears to be down and every coach is watering down their schedule hoping to pick up a win.
Anyone else notice how weak coaches have scheduled outside their district games... The only exception is Somerset and their schedule looks brutal...

I dont know what Ironton has this year, but if they are anything like the past they are definately a worthy opponent. If Ironton is what they always have been, a JC/Ironton matchup should be considered a pretty agressive out of district scheduled game.

Yea Ike, because Whitley playing Bell, Harlan Co, Boyle, Rock, Russell, and Somerset is definitely watering down the schedule.

Whitley looks to have 6 real tough games, Somerset has 8 tough games, Those 2 didn't water down too much.lol

Prestonsburg's non district schedule includes 1A State Champ Hazard, a good Perry Central team, & 3A State Runner-up Belfry. Not to mention an up & coming Pike Central team twice. Two teams who are normally better than what last year showed in Sheldon Clark & Lawrence Co.

Didn't look at every single schedule. Just saying the majority of the schedules look a little weak, mostly looked at 14th, 15th and 16th region teams. But yes, Whitley does have a great schedule after looking at it.
Noticed alot of schools with incomplete schedules on the KHSAA website and don't understand why Prestonsburg and Pike Central are playing 2 times.

Both teams where having trouble finding another game the same week of their 1st meeting of the year, so they said what the hell lets play twice.

Its hard to believe that teams have such a hard time with scheduling, but they do.
As Pburg is doing this year, i Remember back in 02 that Whitley played a team out of Cincinnati in the first game and last game of the year and beat them both time.
First game was at home and second was on the road.

No prob, what you have to understand is that its a down year i guess you could say in the mountains with a lot of teams being young which means there not suppose to be that good and in return means when mountains teams are playing mountain teams it makes there schedule look weak when in reality, there are just a lot of young teams out there.
