My uncle just heard that Linebacker Madison Ghormley will miss this one and maybe the next one, heard he fell on some rocks and split his knee open and required stitches does anyone know if this is true.

^ If that is true that is a HUGE blow. Ghormley is an excellent player in the middle and his absense would be greatly felt.
Timmy May played showed ability Friday playing DE/OLB and if Zach Fransisco can get back on the field, maybe Haywood moves May inside to play beside Mullins? Just putting the next man in (natural at ILB) might result in a litte more athletic dropoff.
Bad timing to have a freak fall and hurt yourself with Henry Clay and Pburg coming to town.
It didn't look like Fransisco, Taylor, or Barnes were seriously injured last Friday. Without going into too much detail, are they expected to suit up Friday?

I watched most of the first half of the Henry Clay/Ryle game on Ihigh. Ryle ran the same play over and over - just a iso lead out of the I formation, and had great success running the ball. I thought Henry Clay looked soft defensively and that bodes well.
On offense and special teams, Jackson and Bell are very fast and explosive. I would guess Belfry will get stung by the big play a few times in this game.
Prediction:
Belfry 28
Henry Clay 21

Over and dies just like last year. Let's get it, Belfry!

Also, I think Francisco could have played Friday. I'm almost positive him and Barnes will be back Friday. Zach Taylor I'm not sure about yet. I've heard nothing of Madison getting hurt yet.

I've seen both teams play this year! (so early in the season, too)
Anyway, Henry Clay isn't as strong this year as they have been in recent past; however, Coach Simpson always gets the best from his team. So credit to him.
But, Belfry will be too much to handle IMO.

Safe game to both teams!!

Losing Madison for the next couple weeks is definitely going to hurt. He is one of the best LB's in EKY and will finish his career around 500 total tackles. Definitely big shoes to fill against a pair of offenses that certainly have some firepower.
Last year Henry Clay essentially had 90% of their yards come from three plays where the Pirates were either out of position or missed a tackle that turned into a big gain. Belfry needs to get penetration to force the Devils to go East-West and create some tackles for loss.

Ghormley out this week and hopefully back for Pburg...Who steps into the starting role?

Belfry wins this one. 27---14.

Ghormley out is a HUGE loss. I already gave my $.02. If you can get Timmy May up comfortable with his assignments at ILB this week, you play him there. (that assumes Fransisco makes it back from injury). If not that, what? Has Austin Hatfield seen any time at ILB? He would seem the right type of athlete to succeed in that role and Belfry is much deeper on D-Line it seems.

I'm not a betting man.
But I think Im gonna prove correct on this one. Messer and Fransisco outside with Mullins and May inside.
Alternate A: Switch Fransico and May. That will be your 4 backers though.

Hatfield will most likely play ILB with Mullins, Francisco and Messer at DE/OLB (w/e you wanna call it), Barnes returns this week and Zach Taylor practiced on Monday. Also, if you guys could keep Zach Taylor in your prayers he lost his grandpa Monday, whom he was extremely close to.

With the team speed Belfry has this year on defense, Ghormley will be missed by the Belfry faithful but Belfry could prob play with 10 and not give up more than 2 TD's.

Another KY High School Football season begins and with it the countless hours I will spend on BGR keeping up with it from down here in GA. This is the absolute best time of year.
