Russell needs to throw the ball to have a chance to win !!!!!!!

That shouldn't be a problem now.

I'm thinking the more pressing issue is keeping irontons D out of the backfield if they force him out of the pocket he's done. If he gets time they'll have a chance but there gonna have to mix it up.
I heard they added 9 players to the roster from local schools. I'm sure there just scrub players?
We'll see...

The good thing for Russell is the game is not at Ironton. That means they have a chance before the coin toss.

^Aint that the truth.
We should have beat them last year at Ironton BADCAT. I like our chances.

As our boys! Had an older lady telling me on the walk from the car to the gate how she hated my UK jacket. Told her Brandon Knight was signing it in 2 weeks and made sure she remembered who he was.:Shaking:

This will be the 1st time in 4 decades you will have a Russell/Ironton game with out college buddies McGlone and Lutz facing each other on the sidelines.

Man that's awful. The best part of Russell/Ironton games was they would be over in a hour cause no one threw the ball now what should I expect. With Russell having a qb and athletes on te outside maybe both teams will sling it all over the field.

It will still be over in an hour and a half. Russell has had QBs that could throw before. With Evans all that does is keep teams from stacking the box because if you do he will find the open reciever. I wouldn't expect 20 passes a game but just enough to keep people honest.

I know it's not Ivan's philosophy but I really think Russell could be a really dangerous if they had a 50/50 run pass split in play calling.

You will probably see more like 70/30.
A lot of that will have to due with who they play. They could have thrown at will against Greenup County but that's not Coach McGlone's way. They will run 1st and throw when necessary.

We will see exactly where the Red Devils stand. I expect a competitive game but would be shocked to see the Devils pull out the W. Pulling for Russell but expecting Ironton. Good lick to both.

I don't think Russell hired Lee Evans just to keep running the ball. Ivan is able to see change is needed to remain competive. I look for alot more passing, and with Lance Evans, that is very possible. There will likely be more running plays than pass, but I don't think it will be lopsided to the run. Anyway I'm taking the Devils in this, but won't be surprised either way.

Russell stands a chance due to the officiating actually being fairly called at home. If it were on the other side of the river I'd give them zero chance of winning. Rooting for your guys fball. Hope you can send them buckeyes back home with tails between their legs!

Really would love to see the devils pull this out. Hopefully the tiggers lose to two ky schools this season.

I don't mean to be picky here but Russell and Ivan's ancient ways have had 15 consecutive winning seasons. I don't think being competitive is a problem.

Get it done Devils! Good luck this friday! I would love to see both you and Ashland take down the buckeyes this year! Don't be scared because they're ironton!

I hope Russell can keep it close with a chance to win in the 4th quarter.
08-30-2012, 08:45 PM
Refs or no refs. Ky or Ohio. It doesn't matter. Ironton wins this one!

This will be the first orange and black team to beat Russell this season.

The Ams got no chance.

Heard that since the game was put on the schedule. To early to tell. However it's to early to tell until the end of the 4th quarter many times. But as I've stated a couple times in this thread. Good luck devils. Hope to see a win in this one from you guys.

I hope Russell wins. We don't want a Kentucky team to go down to an Ohio team.:Cheerlead
