Sounded like Keaton Taylor showed a ton of moxy and played huge once he got over the nerves.

Weird stat from this game: With the Belfry win tonight, the senior class of Pirates have known nothing but wins against Pikeville while in school for 12 years. Minus Kindergarten. LOL

Good win Belfry, coming from me, WideRight. Things look to really be picking up even if it is Pikeville.

Congrats to Belfry. Just too much for the Panthers.

Next is right I think.
Before Belfry's winning streak started I seem to remember the series being a dead even split.

I am not sure there...but I do know it was Belfry who snapped Pikeville's lengthy winning streak during that run.

The loss in 1989 was the only loss in the 3-year run. Pikeville did trail Beechwood 21-20 at halftime of the 1987 Pike County Bowl, but was not made official due to a thunderstorm that forced the game to be called.

So Pikeville went 44-1 during that 87', '88, '89 run?

The score in this game could have been far worse. But as always Coach Haywood pulled his starters and played with class.

If he's not ready for Friday against SC then I say you also give him the next week off against ER as well. Hip injuries can be the kind that linger for the rest of the year, I'd rsther him have an extra week of rest rather than the risk of re-injury against an ER team that Belfry will have naquished by Halftime.

Coach Howard tried his best to persuade Beechwood's coach to stay over and replay the game for a true winner, but to no avail. However, Pikeville met Beechwood again at their place for the state semis and hammered them by a score of 52-28.

Did Zack Taylor start on the offensive line for Belfry in this game. If so, who came out of the lineup? Duty?
