And the knox central fans go quiet

Watched on the web. Russell Co coaches and players did an excellent job. I believe Britt and Mann were co MVP's this game. Great play calling and great effort by all the RC players. The kicker made a big difference also, giving them crappy field position all night. They deserve to win district after beating a good KC team on the road. I think that one of these two teams may win Region. Look out Boyle and Lex Cath here comes some competition this year.

congrats to russell county they played a great game how ever knox central shot them selfs in the foot all night with turnovers. but give credit to russell county on some of that.. knox offense moved the ball well but the turnover bug got them.... Russell has really good running back and the quarterback is excellent.

Russell County with a big win over a very good Knox Central team. I heard that Canady injured his ankle. does any one know about his status?

Yeah Russell County coach had some really nice play calling.. he made a awesome call when lakers were up 7-0, they ran britt on a wheel route from out of the back field that went for a big touchdown to take a 14-0 halftime lead.

This score actually surprised me; I expected it to be closer.

Congratulations Russell County Lakers!!

Certainly hope and pray that Canady is ok!!

I said who ever turn the ball over would lose and Knox did that. Still two good teams.Russell,Co deserves to win..
#11
Knox Central must have thought it was Christmas or something because they were certainly giving the football away on offense! On the other hand, Russell Co played and excellent game and I never imagined that the the Lakers would have won by that much!

Russell Co and Mr Britt are legit!! Can't wait to see what they do in the playoffs!!

I give RC credit for the fumbles, they were definitely caused. Russell Co. has a fine team.

Congrats to very good laker team, you came in to the panther den an beat us, no excuses here yes we turned to ball over 3 times an yes the laker scored all 3 times. You won the turnover battle an you won the game!! Hope to meet you in the region finales in 4 weeks, good luck lakers in your run in the playoffs

Britt and his blockers are impressive. We fumbled 3 times and RC turned all 3 into touchdowns on drives where we were moving the ball toward our end zone. When we did not fumble, we moved the ball easily.

Britt makes this team unbeatable by a team who makes any mistakes. The kicker is an amazing kick off artist. The QB is a SR and it shows.

I hate we coughed the ball up and made it easy for them. If we get another whack at Britt and we do a better job of protecting the ball we can win. We proved all night that we can run the ball with ease on their defense.

Three fumbles?? That's NOT normal for Knox Central. And the fact that Russell Co scored on every turnover, just confirms what a solid team they are.

I would've loved to have seen this game; everyone thought it would be a great one.

It was a good game. Britt is fun to watch unless you are the one watching him run by you. Our kids never gave up which made us all very proud. We are far from done with the fun for 2012.

As mad as I got down there the other day, giving up is something I would NEVER accuse Knox Central players doing!!

It was a great game KC turned the ball over and it cost them Russell is a very good team and we knew it going into the game. Congrats Russell on your win now lets both go whip up on Boyle and LC, one more thing Russell's coaches should have been MVP of the game

I didn't think Russell would match up with Knox's physicality.
I'll have to say Run it up the Gut and others were right on this one.

Congratulations on the win Russell County. However, the team needs to take it one game at a time. I know the coaches will not allow them to look ahead. Knox Central is one thing but Boyle County and Lexington Catholic is another. Impressive record. Impressive team. But one game at a time.

Knox Central had their chances, which you're fully aware of. Turnovers can eat a team alive. The boys need to learn from this and move on.

Way to go Russell County Lakers! So many key players and plays! Of course Britt was fantastic and Mann was good too. Fletcher had a great forced turnover when he stripped the ball and ran it in. Ellis always gets those 1st downs even with defensive players hanging on his back! What a team! You make us fans proud!!!!

Just made the long drive (seemed short really) home. This was a very well played game by both teams. As I stated in the prediction thread, this game would come down to turnovers. Russell Co forced all three of the fumbles, but even more impressive was how we held on to the ball. There were several times that the Panthers were very aggressive at trying to strip the ball, but the Lakers held strong. I was also impressed with how the Lakers stayed in bounds during the last couple of drives. There were several plays where they could have avoided a bit of contact by going out, but stayed in. The officiating was actually pretty good in this one, probably the best I've seen all year. I disagreed with the intentional grounding call and the head to head contact foul, but that's just a matter of opinion.

This game was very similar to the game against Whitley Co. The Lakers built a solid lead only to have the Panthers come back a bit in the 3rd. Not sure if the defense is letting up a bit or the Panthers were just more focused......probably a bit of both. The Lakers held strong and turned up the momentum on it's last scoring drive, eating up all but the last 50 seconds or so of the 4th.

After the game the coach told the boys to enjoy the win and celebrate over the weekend because this is something they'll remember for a lifetime, but come Sunday it's time prepare for the next game......they have bigger goals for the season, and this was just one more wrung on the ladder to that goal.

Great Game by both teams, hope to see a rematch in a few weeks.

I didn't think there was any way Russell could be as physical as we were, and I was wrong on that. They were clearly the better team tonight. We could have easily quit when we got down 21-0 but we kept fighting and made a game of it. I could not believe after the game when I got in the car the radio announcer was saying the game would have been closer if Russell had took a knee at the end and not run a touchdown. This was CLASSLESS,If you don't want them to score stop them.

I agree, there was nothing Classless about it....the game was by no means out of hand until that score. The Panthers had outscored the Lakers 19-7 leading up to that drive.

Russell Co's lack of a quality opponent during the season may hurt them down the line.

They had one tonight and did quite well.

I thought the hit to the head was a good call, the grounding call wasn't so sure about.IMO the crew that work tonights game are best in S.E.Kentucky,

Glad i went to this one.
I called for a 36-19 win for Russell and that was pretty close.

I wasn't kidding when i said Russell County was the best team ive seen all year and the fact that i seen them in week 1 and that still hold true really says something.
Knox is a hell of a team. Best in this little part of the state. Turnovers really hurt KC, but to be honest, RC made KC look slow at times, mostly due to Britt, just as they did with Whitley. Britt is one of the fastest players ive seen, but what about Mann? That kid had one hell of a game and is very underrated. He was my MVP tonight.
I was surprised to see RC's kicker struggle as he did, but when that kids kicks off to you and pins you every down, its hard to dig yourself out of a hole.

Good game. Congrats to both teams, and i would like to see them meet in the regional final again if they can knock off Lex Cath and Boyle, which IMO, is far from impossible.

Keep on rolling RC...
