Raceland@Pikeville 11/9
#1
In the recent series, Pikeville holds a 2-1 advantage, including a 30 point blowout in the Regional Semis last year. The Rams returned the favor early this year, defeating the Panthers by 40 pts or so. Pikeville has won 5 straight but allowed Paintsville to score 24 pts on them in round 1. Pikeville is NOT the same team Raceland played early in the year, but I think Raceland's defense is too much for Pikeville in round 2. Im going to say a closer game but Raceland prevails because of better defense and a better return game. Wont give a score but say they win by 3 tds. Thoughts?

Raceland 35-14

Pikeville will pull the upset at home.

Bold prediction guru. It will all come down to which Raceland team shows up. In all 3 big game/tests Raceland has come out in the first half looking like a team that can win it all. Then they seem to lay their hat on the 1st half and start playing with no emotion. I think Raceland will get past Pikeville and finally get that Regional Championship against Fairview. After that who knows.

pikeville has improved and shows it this game. also think raceland might overlook tje panthers to fairview rematch. pikeville wins on a last minute drive. 32-28

I would have to say that both teams have improved a lot sense the last meeting. A lot of unknowns have been answered by both squads. And developments by other players. I know for a fact that's the case in Ram nation! And I assume the same for Pikeville. If both have progressed about the same. And both for the most part are healthy. I have to believe the Rams will turn this in the opposite of last year!
This won't be a 40 point blowout. But maybe a 14 to 21 point victory for the Rams.
This will be a great game. Hopefully both come out injury free. Health and turnovers from now on will decide the games!

Trust me when I say this. The Raceland Rams (every player and every fan) won't be over looking PIKEVILLE. They have way to much history. And we all have way to much respect for that storied program!!!!!

the Rams move to round 3

Pikeville has improved a lot. But not enough to get by Raceland. Rams by 12.

Pikeville comes out on top in a close one at home.
#12
Will be close if 15th region officials are used. Not so close if from somewhere else.
#13
Rams win!
#14
Same story as before. Raceland and fairview are the class of the region.

Already blaming the officials? Give me a break.

Won't be necessary.

This will have a close first half. The second half will be deciding factor with health and condition coming into play. 34-30 Pikeville.

Nope you guys better all come in the same car because all I am springing for is a sack of hotdogs and a half tank of gas to get you back home.

Raceland.

This one might be close for a quarter but by the end of the 3rd, Rams have it in the bag.
Pikeville is bad up front and can't keep up with the Rams speed.

Maybe you didn't see the first matchup between these two teams.. Raceland left no doubt that they are the better team. Raceland is much better on the line, both sides of the ball. Pikeville has some good playmakers but not enough to keep up with the Rams. Close game at first, Raceland pulls away in the second half. I'm sure Pikeville has improved since week 3 but so have the Rams.
#24
Pikeville has improved over the season and will be a tough out for Raceland even though Raceland destroyed them in the regular season.. If Raceland scores early and maintains there foot on the gas then Raceland wins but if they let Pikeville remain in the game then Pikeville pulls it out in the end.
#25
I agree, Raceland needs to put Pikeville away early. Can't let good teams hang around late in the game. I think first quarter will be close then Beach starts breaking some long runs.

As the season progresses don't all teams improve?
Raceland has improved a lot on both sides of the ball. That's what you do when you practice and play each week. No doubt Pikeville has just like the Rams. That's what happens when you have good coaches. And both these teams have very good coaching staffs.

Raceland has improved. But still have issues with turning the ball over. I think the player that has improved the most is Conner Messer. He is only a sophomore and was already tallented as they come. But through the year, he has gotten more physical. An Allen Central player was set up in perfect position to make a tackle on him after a 40 back shoulder catch and Conner put a stiffarm right in his chest and walked into the endzone. He is a far cry from the player that came up limping several times last year after simple tackles. He has the potential to be one of the best recievers in the state.

imo IF pikeville comes to play wether they win or lose this might be the most exciting game to be at / watch. these two teams are very passionate and it shows when they play. both programs hav alot of respect for one another and im honored to b a part of it
