Lakers now WINLESS in last 13 games! WOW

With last nights loss to the Clippers, the Lakers have now dropped the last 13 games they have played.

I remember long, long ago - way back when we used to have Laker posters on this site. But now they have disappeared, only to show up to post when the Heat loses! What a shame, I miss all those guys. They were all so cute with their dying devotion to their team, but now that their team has lost 13 games in a row, they have dropped off the planet - for the time being.....Confusednicker:

Where oh where are you Laker Lovers???? I'm waiting on you....

I guess you are counting pre-season games?
#3
^ 0-2 in the playoffs, 0-8 in preseason, 0-3 on the season. That's a lot of losing for the Purple and Gold
#4
So to clarify...
they have lost 5 straight games.
#5
Dating back to last year
#6
so let's clarify again...
they are 0-3 with 79 games left in the season.

I'd say we go ahead and give up.

They started 0-2 last year and still turned it around - but this 3rd loss has really put the dagger in them.

Any team that gets out and runs will have a chance against the Lakers. This team may not get out the the second round for the third straight year if they run into OKC or the Clippers before the WCF. And the Spurs are most certainly in the mix again this year to come out the west. Its a toss up between those 4 teams.

We are reaching a very critical point in the season that if the Lakers don't win, they just may have to break up the BIG THREE

It looks like they have

The Lakers' problem is that Kobe Bryant likes shooting with three people guarding him and a hand in his face. He is never going to be content to allow a great point guard to run an offense that creates open shots for him and his teammates. The numbers on the jerseys have changed, but the Lakers has just given Kobe two new scapegoats. At least he does not have Andrew Bynam to kick around any more. Confusednicker:

Lakers tried to be like the Heat and put an all star team together and so far it's backfired....I honestly think it's the coaching. Mike Brown sucks.....Lakers will always be like this until they get someone in their that knows what their doing

Kobe has been very efficient this year. The losing streak shouldn't fall on him, but will, because he's the leader, and teams best player.

^ I would go so far as to say it's Kobe's fault! There are things that are just completely out of Kobe's control, and the most important one is that the last 13 games, the Lakers played far superior teams than his. But, he can't control any of that! Wink

How is Kobe not the all-time assists leader? He feeds HIMSELF on every possession.....Confusedhh:

I know there is no sense in arguing with you in here...
seeing as how you are the "observing" of the NBA threads - but I'll give it a shot.

Your little stat - even though it was stolen from ESPN - is the epitome of people making up stats to try to prove their point. If someone wants to say that Kobe isn't clutch because of the screenshot that you just posted then they have absolutely no basketball sense. I have watched nearly every televised Laker game for about the last 10 years (thanks to NBA league pass - in the last 3 years I may have missed 4 or 5 games PERIOD). I couldn't count the times that a game is deadlocked with about 5 minutes to go and Kobe sealed the game with his play on both ends of the court well before the 24 seconds in your stat is relevant. I've seen teams go back and forth until the final minute and Kobe put the dagger in them over and over again. C'mon now - let's get real. Something that Stardust simply can't comprehend doing in the NBA section of this board.

Team chemistry will always be a problem with Kobe on the team. There is no room for him and a good point guard on the team. He makes his teammates worse. Bynum is lucky to have escaped while he is still young.

I know that Kobe's shooting stats look good now, but that won't last. The shame of it is, Kobe could probably let Nash run the show, take fewer shots, still average 23 to 25 ppg and shoot 50 percent or better by simply letting Nash set him up for open shots. That would be a nice way to end his career and it would help erase his legacy as a ball hog.

Kobe is SUCH a deadly spot up shooter. Had he been more of a spot up guy instead of taking wild shots at times like he does, he would probably have close to the 50% shooting percentage that Jordan had (Kobe's career shooting % is around 45). All he has to do is either let Nash set him up, or one of the two big men kick the ball out to him. Unfortunately for him and his team, he will probably choose to do otherwise.

All jokes aside, Kobe should have gotten out of LA when he had the chance a few years ago.
IMO, his legacy would have remained intact. If he keeps playing, he's going to continue to fall further down the list of great players. His most dissapointing feature is that the titles went away with the stars who left him.

The Lakers are suffering from a drought. They need someone to make it rain!

Let's face it, every year until now it hasn't been the laker's offense, it has been Kobe's offense and now they have Dwight Howard to worry about scoring, Nash is a pass-first point guard so that makes it less of him scoring and more of him getting the ball to a scorer whether it be Kobe, Howard, or Gasol. Like Stephen A Smith said, "Kobe needs his Iso's." With this huge change of back door cuts and other things tacked on with the "Princeton Offense". The Lakers, in general isn't use to this type of play. Nash pick and rolling in Phoenix, Howard posting up in Orlando, and Kobe doing what he can to get the score in LA. IMO, its time to let Kobe take over or let the Lakers take some time to adjust. Either way, they need a new head coach, Mike Brown is NOT good.
#28
I'm pretty sure Kobe legacy is safe with leading the Lakers to 5 championships and all the records he holds. He can now only add to both of those and climb further up the greatest players list. No matter what he does from this moment forth, he's a lock in the top 10.

Since I'm a betting man...

I'm betting the losing stops today (sunday).. At home vs Pistons

They will be alright. The Heat's big 3 didn't start their first season off very well either.
