who wins and why? Pburg can score but do they have enough defense to win this game..

Lets go Blackcats, bring this one home to Floyd County. When Betsy Layne moved the ball they did it by passing, so I will say the blackcats will make it a game.

A lot of people are saying, depends on what Danville team shows up, but I think the question is, what Pburg offense shows up. If this Pburg pass gets hot they are hard to stop, just go ask Pike Central. If they come like they did on Lawrence then I like Danville easy. I like Danville overall in this one.

If Danville can slow down Prestonsburg's offensive trio like Belfry & Hazard did, then Danville wins in a route. But if Danville can't keep Prestonsburg from lighting up the scoreboard, then this could be s very high scoring game.

This is going to be a hard one for Prestonsburg to win, but i think they can do it if they play a great game with no silly penalties and turnovers.

Yes there is. In the early 1990s Danville was arguably the best team in KY and had a record winning streak going and some of the wins were against Pburg. Prestonsburg finally ended that historic win streak in the state semifinals but lost to Mayfield in the 2A state final. Prestonsburg had a great team and knew it. From the very first game, they painted windows and chanted about wanting a rematch with Danville and how they were going to beat Danville. They were up for the game like it was the Super Bowl. They met, Prestonsburg did what they said they would and all the fire Pburg had that season was gone as they savored the victory. They didn't have the adrenalin going when they played Mayfield because they had already slain the undisputed King for the last several years.

One thing I have learned this year. Prestonsburg may just surprise you. I'm rooting for the Cats.

My oldest brother was the starting MLB on that team and to this day talks about it. Im trying to get him to come in from owensboro and watch it. lol.

I guess you mean the Pburg team. If I remember correctly they also led the state in defense and offense. What a team. I'd like to see Pburg give Danville a refresher course. And if your brother was a starter on that team he needs to come back sometime and step on the field and energize it. Of course, the field has been turned around now, but those guys were awesome.

Has to be the CATS. I will say this, the PBurg defense has to come to play...if Danville watches the film correctly they see Pburg has an issue stopping the run...so if Pburg takes this into consideration and works on the run defense then no question it will be a Blackcat victory.

A couple years back Derosset let him talk to the linebackers before fall practice and he loved it I have been trying o convince him for years to go back to UK and finish his degree so he can teach and coach.

Well he certainly knows how to win. It would be awesome to see one of those guys coaching. I'm sure they'd put their heart into it.
