What kind of chance does Franklin Co actually have in 5a?
#1
There has been a lot of unwarranted talk about Franklin Co this year being a powerhouse in 5a. I just wanted to see if anyone else out there is thinking the same as I am about this one. They actually have Franklin Co ranked above Warren Central in 5a this year. I understand they are undefeated, but they did not play Bowling Green either. I understand they score alot but, they cant stop anyone on defense. The biggest case I could make about that is Danville finished with 3 losses in 2a and ranked in the bottom half of 2a top 10. Danville played Frankfort and did not allow but 28 points and several of those came off of turnovers, not against the admirals' defense. The other thing is Danville seemed to be able to move the ball with a freshman qb fumbling the ball and other problems there. I think this was probably one of Franklin Co's best wins and it looks very suspect right now.

No chance, their defense is terrible!
#3
I guess you are so scared of talking smack to Frankfort High that now you want to start with Franklin Co. shouldn't you be in church right now praying you Beechwood takes care of the panthers so they don't take care of you.
#4
But to answer your question 1 of 16 teams left. 92.786%:welcome:

I just don't think any team in any class can win a championship without a good defense. There may be a fluke every now and then, but I can't think of one. I think Cooper beating Anderson County 48-0 says a lot about needing a defense.
#6
You definitely can't win your class without a good defense, or if your defense is overrated like Bowling Green's is.
#7
Whitekittything, all I can tell you is, if you get to that stage we will be there and I don't have to do any talking the boys wearing the white jerseys with red helmets will do all of that for me. And believe me, you will hear the message very very loud and clear. The one that says we will be in the state championship again!!!!!!!!! Now dont you have another kid to threaten.

wideright, I agree with your point that you cant win without d. I think you are sadly mistaken though on BG. They will steam roll through this bunch to put a stamp on 5a in BG this year. Write it down, post it anywhere you want because it wont matter, that is unless WC gets nasty and they could have an outside chance at beating them but thats all in 5a.
#9
you can not gage franklin co. on thr ac-cooper game. AC played flat the last two games but thats part of being young 75% of the kids havent even turned sixteen.FLYERS have a lot of upper classman that makes a big diference on a any team!!!!

I think BG will win the 5A unless Franklin is as good as they are being touted. That said BG does not have a great D. They have a good high school school D. They are not the team they were last year. They will be next year. The one thing they have going for them that puts them far above the other 5A teams is coaching. These guys do a great job.

I wanna see Highlands an BG play so bad just to see which side would be eating the healthy heaping of crow lol
#13
They could be done friday.
#14
There seems to be nobody who is neutral on Franklin County. There is only hate or love for the Flyers. I guess we will find out Friday.
#15
One thing for sure...the road to Bowling Green runs through Harlan County....:popcorn:

BG wins 5A in a cake walk.
FC could put up 60 on BG and BG would put up 77 on FC to win it.
#17
Franklin Co wont put up 21 on BG. Runs through Harlan CoConfusednicker:Confusednicker:Confusednicker:. Now thats funny.Confusednicker:Confusednicker:Confusednicker: The only team that has a chance of upseting BG from here out is Warren Cent.:thanks:

The east does run through Harlan County so no don't think Franklin will make it to BG.

I really do not understand your last statement about Danville and Frankfort? You do relize that Franklin County and Frankfort High are two completely different schools, Franklin County is a 5A school who did not play Danville and Frankfort High is a 1A school who played Danville and also won that game.

The road to Bowling Green moron...know what the hell you are talking about before you post. Who is it you pull for again? You can laugh your ass off all you want about Harlan County...bring your boys on up here and get some. If you go to the title game from the east..you will have to beat Harlan County at Harlan County...so like I said...the road to Bowling Green runs through Harlan County.

That is for sure. Got to win at Harlan Co to get there. I hope Harlan Co is in that semi final game.

Oh I love it...this is so exciting...I am one to take one game at a time but all this talk about the road to BG running through Harlan County is running chills down my spine!!!!

come on guys/gals, I love harlan county football, and i do think they will win the region pretty easily, but Harlan's problem is they can't defend the pass, and they can't pass the ball to good either. As soon as someone comes in here that has a good passing game, the run is over. If Franklin Counties defense isnt too good then harlan might could out score them, and get to BG, but thats just alot of what if's, just take it one game at a time......

Um I had a post but had to delete it...lol

FanfromFrank, I thought it was pretty simple to understand. Franklin Co 5a team, best game they had against 1a Frankfort. They gave up 30 points to Frankfort. Frankfort could not score 30 points against a team in the lower half of 2a, Danville. That says defensive weekness. Not that hard to figure out. Bear Paw, did not understand your statement. I thought you were incinuating that Bowling Green would not have a chance against Harlan Co. My bad, dont get your feathers ruffled and I am quiet sure that my team would play yall win or loose. We look at it as an experience and would be glad to do so. We have a couple of openings coming up next year, sounds good. Coach Morris will probably be asking all takers for a game like he was about 3 years ago. I am serious about that, we like to play bigger schools than we are to try and get ready for playoffs every year.

55 you seem to get very defensive when someone says negative things to you but you seem to think it is ok to get on here and slam everyone else. There are other good teams in this state not named Mayfield. As you may or may not know Frankforts game with Danville as played in less than favorable weather conditions which made it hard to throw the ball. Frankfort may not beat Mayfield if they play but this years Panther team has a really good shot at doing so.

Bring the Cardinals on....we need games also. Although the road to Bowling Green may not run through Harlan next year....we'll need stepping stones. Love stepping on arrogance and stupidity...

Cant wait to see Conner/Cooper roll in to Harlan on thanksgiving weekend. Should be a war.

Hubb, I haven't been defensive on here on anything other than one other nameless person (WhitePantherThing) threatened what he thought was my son. Other than that, I have simply stated the facts as I have seen them. I am well aware of the weather conditions, I saw the game. That has nothing to do with tackling.

As far as playing against Harlan Co, I am 100% serious. I would like to play them from what I have seen on the KHSAA site they look to be a pretty good team. We don't shy away, win or loose. That is the only way to get better. We may be going through some growing pains next year too. That's sometimes the nature of the beast. As far as your situation if you are on the other side, best of luck to you, until you play either BG or Warren Cent because I would have to pull for them at that point.
