Congradulations to Johnson County's 9-10 Cal Ripken All-Stars for going 3-2 in the state tournament at Mt. Sterling and finishing 4th in a 10 team tournament. The final 4 were Johnson County, South Lexington, Louisville Fern Creek and Southeast Lexington. Way to make us proud. The players were Bo Robbins, Chaynse Hill, Jared Wheeler, Austin Staniford, Corey Fraley, Trent Arrowood, Quade Ward, Alex Castle, Austin McCarty, Brent Gooding, Nick McKenzie, Brady Borowski-Burke, Patrick Rice, Braxton Hensley and Zach Slone. The manager was Wayne Arrowood and the coaches were Gary Hill and Randy McCarty. Also, a special moment for Bo Robbins who hit his first HR in the final game against Louisville Fern Creek. :letsparty

Congratulations to the players, coaches you have worked hard for this and if there had not been a Cal Ripken League in Johnson County some of these young men would have never been able to play in a state tournament. Again congratulations to all involved.

Another interesting Johnson County connection, one of the players for the 9-10 South Lexington team was the son of former Johnson County native Joey Couch. It was nice to get a chance to talk to Joey for the first time in several years.
