Lawrence Co. @ Rowan Co 8/30
#1
Who ya got and why?

I don't know anything about Rowan this year because it's been so long since these tow teams went at it. I do know this.......the last time we went to Rowan they sent us home with our tail tucked so I think we owe em one.

Is GRC good or is the score a result of Rowan being bad?

I think Rowan has a new head coach but not really sure about that But he's not the same one they had the last time LC played them and got beat pretty bad. What I do know is they have a running back that weighs around 285lbs and what I hear is he's not slow either. So the boys will have to hit this guy low and early you can't let him get his momentum going because he will be a load to stop. They also have around 15 seniors I think. But If LC plays thier game they have a good chance. Good luck Dawgs

285 lbs..Speed, but does he has endurance that will withstand the JYD 6-8 players on each tackle? This boy will wear down by half time. LC has a speedy line that is in the back field before you know it, not leaving much time to throw the ball. If the same LC shows up at this one that I seen last night I look for the Dawgs to open some eyes. Our real test will be when we meet Fairview and Breathitt Co. But then again I have been wrong in the past.

I don't want to sound negative, and I love what I'm seeing from this young Dawg team, but I'm just a little worried about our defense.
I know it was the 1st game and all, but I don't think the Boyd run game and offensive line is even close to the best we will see this year and Boyd gashed us a few times. I know we have some good speed on defense but we got pushed around a little. I would think that some of the people on the O line have experience playing both ways so do you think coach may beef up that d line just a bit?

Will have to do a little more research on RC before I give a prediction but LC plays the way they did Friday night they have a good chance as ever to win.
#12
I look for the Dawgs to win this one, but Boyd may be the worst team on the schedule. I think it'll be a 2+ TD win. If LC doesn't do something with that D, there are 4 or 5 teams on their schedule who may lay it on them.

Reading the Ashland Daily about where GRC beat Rowan Co. 58-13 but the big story is that the Big running back went down with a bad ankle sprain. So maybe LC won't get to see this guy. Personally I hope they do we need to see LC get tested so they are ready for when it counts. Rowan Co coach said that the hole team just kind of went down when that kid went out of the game. So I wish him a quick recovery and wish the Dawgs Good Luck. I think LC will take this one either way as long as they stay hungry and want it more then Rowan does. GO DAWGS

Rowan is capable of being better than they played against GRC. If that lost wakes the team up this will be a great game if they don't step up it'll be a long night for the Vikings.
#15
LC big in this one offense to many weapons for RC to stop if they put 8 in the box LC just throw it over top. Defense solid much inproved at corners linebackers solid. Boyd Co. Completed 1 pasd and had 2 picked off. Number 5 is a shutdown corner had a pick in the scrimmage with russell and pick against boyd. Kiser at is a game changer.
#16
does anyone know how many yards rowans backs had last week against GRC?
#17
Lawrence Co by 2 TD 's.

Lc 28-21

I thought that Rowan got a runningback from Cali. Did he not play? Highlights from the other thread were great.

He is a hoss for sure, If he is out this week that is a plus for the dawgs, if not, it will take picture perfect tackling to get this boy/man down. The group tackling I spoke of earlier best be on its A game,

keontae moore is the boys name, you can see pics of his size on facebook.
#21
He is getting all his paperwork worked out might be a week or two longer before he gets the play.
#22
keontae moore played in the game against GRC. He carried the ball 3 times, and went out in the 1st quarter and did not return. As for him playing this week, he is listed as questionable.

Hate to hear that the boy is hurt, hope he gets better....next week that is....this could be a big help for LC's small line!!
