St. Henry defeated Allen Central 25-11, 25-8 in the final, capping a six-match romp through the field. The Crusaders received an MVP performance from sophomore middle hitter Janelle Tobler. She led the Crusaders with 36 kills. Sophomore Dani Noll was next with 25. Junior setter Kendyll Kraus totaled 120 assists. Noll and Kraus were named all-tournament. Libero Corie Flood recorded 68 digs, and middle hitter Karly Lehmkuhl had eight blocks.
“We have a whole new roster, but it was a goal to win the region, and it was a goal to win state once we got there,” coach Maureen Kaiser said. “We have a really young team, and we had to use everybody to win.”

The Crusaders advanced out of pool play with victories over Danville, 2010 state champion Caldwell County and Whitefield Academy. They escaped last year’s runner-up Presentation Academy 25-22, 25-23 in the first round of the championship bracket, and followed by a 25-7, 25-7 semifinal rout against Whitesville Trinity.
The Crusaders also won the 1981 KHSAA crown when Kaiser was a freshman at St. Henry.
