I have said it and will stand behind it. I am now putting Raceland into the pretender category with Williamsburg. These two teams have earned their spots there with lack of success against any of their quality opponents. I would love to see them become contenders but, until they can prove it they are just contenders. Don't come on here and try to tell me any different, they will have to prove it on the field.

They all will have a good season there just one happy team at the end of season that team is the 1A state camps last there is only one way to find the one HAPPY TEAM go to bowling green even if your team does not make so we can which two great teams play for ONE GREAT DREAM.

Raceland has lost 2 games by 4 points total. One point in OT against 4A Ashland,,, Lost by 3 points to 3A Lawrence who was the the highest scoring offense in 3A in the state. Ashland was ranked in the top 10 in 4A at one time and Lawrence is still ranked in the top 10 in 3A. Lawrence played hard and made plays. We missed out.. But to go from contender to pretender by losses to these 2 schools? Really? By 4 points and you are ready to throw us away? OK.

Rampride, I desperately want to give your team some credit, but that has to be earned. They have faltered too much this year when it counts. I think if you will check out my early season posts, I was very much supporting them. I just aint seeing it out of them yet. That may change, hopefully it will. But so far it hasn't. When you play the teams that you all have played, no matter how big of a school they are, you gotta win those games. I think Fairview has already beaten one of the teams that yall lost to. Therefore that says pretender at this current time. Now if yall get salty and take care of the Eagles and win that district, then that will change. But until that point, I will have to stand by my statement that they have dropped into the Williamsburg pretender category.

It's true Williamsburg fans. Me being one of the biggest Williamsburg fans there is We haven't proven a thing we've lost to the two great teams we played granted we had kids out, but haven't won region and only won a weak district. We do need to win region to gain any respect. Hopefully the kids start to realize that instead of believing all this hype because hype is nothing without least a region title or a ring to prove it. Till then we are just a decent 1A team and that doesn't hold any ground when your talking about the best in the state.

Jacketpride, they are still a good team. I don't want to put anyone down. There is just a different level when you talk about the top 4-5 teams. Now, I'm not saying you guys can't get there. I think you have some of the tools, I just think at the current yall are a step or two behind that group. Now if we can just get 64 to understand that. It all comes down to the Hazard semi final game. If you can get the Bulldogs in that one, then you will earn some respect. It is not a bad thing to not have the respect yet. It gives you something to be upset about and to fight for. That can make a team tough in the mind and that is over 50% of what it takes to be a good team.

I know what your saying and yes they are a good team, But they have something to prove and until they win a region I think we all the Williamsburg fans need to stop hyping them up so much. Be proud of your team and believe me I am and I believe in are kids to the fullest and maybe this year is the year we have the talent that's for sure but we have to win REGION before we keep talking about state one step at a time plz and thank you.

You all are to concerned with myIQis55's opinion. Who cares if he respects your team? He has his opinion. You are entitled to yours. I respect Mayfield and every team out there. I don't respect an adult who gets on an internet site and says he doesn't respect a bunch of high school kids.

For one thing mysonis55 Do me a favor just pick 2 contender from the east or are you just a pretender. I myself don't need your respect i'm not a player nor are you my coach.williamsburg should have beaten hazard last year and they will this year and you still want respect williamsburg.:howdy:

Mayfield is head and shoulders above everyone right now, no matter who comes out of the east I think Mayfield is just a well oiled machine that will be clicking on all cylinders by the time post season play starts. Without King I am not sure if Fairview will represent the east, I think Raceland might be able to beat them now. King really helped them a lot of defense and Fairview's defense wasn't the strongest before he got hurt. Lot of balance really in the east now with Fairview, Hazard, Raceland, Pikeville and even Paintsville looking pretty good.

Yes
Williamsburg handled Pike Central fairly easy. Fairview needed an epic choke job by the Hawks to pull out the W. I am very familiar with Pike Central and they are not a very good team. Pikeville's Final Score vs. Hazard was mis-leading as the Panthers were probably 2-3 TD's better.
Hazard, Fairview, and Raceland are interchangeable. I think Pikeville and Wburg are slightly better teams (as you see maybe a TD better) than the interchangeable lot. In addition Wburg has two very good losses.
North Laurel has equated themselves as a legit Top 10 caliber team in 5A and Wayne County is perhaps the best team in the West in 3A. Wayne Co is comparable to Belfry who put a running clock on Pikeville and would do the same to all the other 1A teams being mentioned. WBurg actually equated themselves pretty well against Wayne until late in the 2nd Half.
What's left to be answered with Wburg is how they react when the pressure is on in November. Pikeville, Hazard, and Fairview have all proved they can win the big game. Raceland and Wburg the jury is still out.

Well, I hope your right. I would like to see the old 64 at BG. That is if we can make it. But, you are wrong about Wayne. If the new D coordinator at PT does what I think, the best team in 3a west is in Paducah. They were blue and white and much like the storm they represent with destroy Wayne.

Most schizophrenic team in KY HS Football... I will have to see more than "good losses" from them before I trust they can win 4 straight games including 3 straight against Top 10 teams.

Imo, It all comes down to what Raceland team shows up. If its the team that held on and buckled down when they had to against Coal Grove, or the team that hung 21 pts on Ashland in the 2nd quarter that offense and that defense in those 2 quarters were the best in the east and if they can figure out how to do that for 4 quarters, they are the best team in the east.
BUT until they do that, my beloved rams are just pretenders. I do however have a feeling with a healthy Isaac Wallace on the dline, Daylin Beach, and Messer back at 100%, they will beat Fairview. I just worry that if thu do beat Fairview and win the district, what happens against Paintsville the following week.
