Dudley hilton will be coaching at whitley
#1
Just heard from a good source that it was all but a done deal!! GUT will be that happiest man on here for years to come. Sure wish we could have landed him!!!
#2
What makes you think that? He had UPike in the top 25. Why leave College when he is doing so good.

My Priorities are:
1)God
2)Family
3)Cougar Athletics!

Everything else doesn't matter!

I've heard rumors before that he was wanting to come back and coach high school football. I just heard that he was coming to Whitley and it again it was from a good source.
#4
He's not leaving Pikeville until his son gets into medical school. Which will be another year -- or so.
#5
i think he will be back in high school football after his son is done playing
#6
I will believe it when I see it
#7
If this is the case, best wishes to Dudley Hilton.
#8
Not even Dudley Hilton can help the poor pitiful Colonels.
#9
I hope you are right. Love him:biggrin: or hate him:redboxer: Dudley is great for HS football.Confusedinglepar
#10
That would be very interesting if true.
#11
He is one heck of a high school coach. But I don't see this happening until his son leaves u-pike. We have all heard this before that Dudley was going hear or there untill we see a press conference I will consider this and all new about him just a rumor.
#12
Well that explains it..........I had heard Phillip Fulmer was going to UPike but couldn't understand why!:eyeroll:
#13
His son can stand on his own. He will be fine. I do believe that he will be in high school next year. He was at Bell telling he wanted to come back there.

If Whitley can put the money up he will come. He has sold his house in Pikeville already...!

Redstorm will be able to get a piece of Bell County tradition that he so badly wants. He can now see how it was done. He loves talking about it.
#14
I think it will be good for WC and high school football in the Mountains, however I have my doubts if he or anyone else can be successful until the situation changes from the elementary schools to the middle school. I do feel that Scott Paul will recognize this. I always have felt that Jim Black was a quality coach, He nor no one else can be successful if you have to start coaching fundimentals in high school when you get them ready to play they are gone.
#15
This is big if its true.
#16
Confusedhh:

My trolling on Bell fans all year hasn't been for nothing :Shaking:
I've said all along, 2014 was the year Whitley would be in the drivers seat of this district and that's all ill say about that.

I will say this though, as of right now, Black is still the head coach of Whitley County and there is currently nothing that has been said or done to change that.

I also know the answer to who will be at the helm next year, but ill let this thread have its fun.
I love scaring Bell fans.

Well of course, but whats the catch? University employees get free tuition for themselves and their families. Medical school is very expensive.

I hope this is true lol

Scotts a smart, and very respectable man.
He was just a teacher at the high school when i was in school.
Im very happy with how far he has progressed Whitley's test scores, and he's and education first type of man, as all supers should be.
He also knows Whitley County High School and this is his home. LA overstayed his welcome by a few years, but other than the politics, he also brought the school up from the bottom of the barrell, but hes no Paul when it comes to running a district.

Jim Black is a quality coach, and more so, a quality man. He was my defensive coordinator for a couple of years in high school before he left to take the Wburg job, and even though hes had his recent down years, and has struggled at times, hes a very good football mind. He could coach any high school anywhere, and with the right tools could be very successful, however, hes at the end of his run. Black owns his own resteraunt in Myrtle Beach, and from everything ive been told, thats where he wants to retire to.
Hes actually from South Carolina anyways.
Whether hes the coach of Whitley County next season or not, I have no complaints toward Jim the Coach or Jim the man. Hes done his due at Whitley County.

Just curious, but whats his salary?
I find it very hard to believe he couldn't afford to pay for this anyways, and lets be honest, Dudley will do what he wants.
Im not disagreeing with you on where hes going to be next year, but lets face it, Dudley does what Dudley wants.

I expect a lot more of these comments from Bell fans :biglmao:

Confusednicker:

Whitleys actually bringing in Fulmer, with Dereck Dooley as special teams coach.
May try to get Kiffin in as a conditioning coach

Good point but no way he stays till his son is finished with med school. Way to long. Next job within 50 miles of his house in Bell that can come up with the money, IMO he is there.

Once again, im not saying Dudley is coming to Whitley County or that his is coming, but Whitley is one of the few programs that can afford him.

I guess this would mean Corbin definitely wont schedule us now

I would pay attention to what RealBadman is saying though. Hes very close to the situation and will probably know more than anyone else.

The same UPIKE team that got drubbed by Cumberlands by around 60 points?
Hes not even close to UC or Gtown and those two are in his conference.

What??? No Petrino???

Are you kidding? When Whitley wants someone they throw unheard of amounts of money at that person, create positions, and even count future district and even region titles. Remember Deaton? How much moola did they throw at him and what exactly was his job at the board? How much money does Black make? Bet it's not on the regular teacher/coaches pay scale. It doesn't matter who they hire tr program is doomed because of those around the program who are not exactly over zealous for the colonels to win!!!

What's the name of his place? Going to MB next month. Like to try it out and support a KY guy.
