I have to agree, Jackets are not that physical to beat the Rams. Rams in a close one 28-21.

The way Raceland played tonight in the first half, they should have been down 10-14 to nothin at the half. But that Raceland defense is tough. Outside of a 65 yd run by Hall and a 45 yd run by Charles, thy didnt do a whole lot running the ball. Raceland DBs played GREAT. Makes me very confident about going up against Williamsburg's attack. Pikeville's only success throwing the ball came twoards the end of the game when Raceland was in a prevent Nickel. Young shut down Estep. Raceland has a very good secondary. If Williamsburg wants to win, they will have to do it theough special teams. Whih is the Rams weakest link. They will have to take advantage of field position. Raceland has mastered contoling the clock and that oline gets stronger as the game goes on. They had Charles under pressure all night tonight. I expect much of the same. Though it is on the road, I think Raceland will do much of what they did tonight. They will slowdown/neutralize Wburg's passing attack and control the clock. This Raceland defense is getting to be scary good right now

I would like to see Williamsburg play in BG but I don't think they are capable of beating Raceland!! The jackets have had a great season but I think the ride is about to end. They will have to have the best game of the year to have a chance.

Before you sell us short Lawrence County beat Raceland 35-38 then pick central beat Lawrence 26-20, we had a running clock on pike central in the first half :Cheerlead:Cheerlead

We did not have Beach at that game or our starting lineman and a couple of other injuries.. But no excuses, we lost that game. That was our turning point,, glad it happened! Since then we have allowed an average of 8 points a game while scoring 254 points and averaging 36 points a game. In that frame was Fairview- who had beaten Hazard, Bellview, Lawrence County and Pike county Central. And Pikeville- who had beaten everyone except Belfry. So yes we lost a total of 2 games this year by a total of 4 points. I still like our chances here in this run.

And our best back (Beach) didn't play in the Lawrence Co. game, so that means squat, not to mention it's about how the two teams match up that are playing, not common opponents. Williamsburg hasn't faced a Class A team like Raceland, but you will next Friday.

This game is what high school sports is all about. Two schools representing their actual hometown who are loved by the community. With consolidation, games like this are becoming fewer and further between. I miss that. I remember visiting my parents in Worthington, my son asked me why so many buildings are orange. I told them the people really love the Rams. I am sure that pride is the same in Williamsburg. Living in bigger towns like I do now, I do not see that kind of excitement about the local schools. Best of luck to both teams. I will be rooting for the Rams of course from NC.

I don't think anyone can accurately pick this game. I am a Williamsburg fan, and I have no idea about Raceland. I did see these two teams play in the middle school state championship several years ago!!! So I guess it would have been predictable that these teams would end up being pretty good. I do not get the comments about Williamsburg not being physical enough!!!
