Credit to bucslover for the idea...thought it was too good not to open up to the masses!
Simply put.. who are the four faces that would represent your football program on your Mount Rushmore?
I'll start with Belfry:
Phillip Haywood
Rick Kestner
James Ramey
David Jones
The winningest coach in KY History and three guys who had great collegiate careers and reached the ultimate level of football.
Honorable Mention:
Doug Howard- The best High School football player to come through Belfry (two rings)
Sani Warren- Perhaps the most decorated player to come through Belfry with a Ring and three other trips to the Finals as well as All-State First team on every list

Boyle County
Chuck Smith
Jeff Duggins
Lamar Dawson
Jacob Tamme
Would have added some old timers and some others from the last 20 years but there's only room for four.

PIKEVILLE
Hillard Howard (Head Coach - 3-time State Champ, 2-time State Runner-up)
Bill Allara (Asst Coach, Head Coach) - same as Hillard plus one more State Runner-Up)
Bobby "Snab" Phillips - 44 years as Equipment Manager, been through it all
Chris McNamee - State Championship player, All-OVC at EKU, has program back on the doorstep of another State appearance
I really hesitate to mention any players because when you start naming some, you leave others off and so many have contributed to the Pikeville tradition.

Orange give us Whitesburg. I know Coach Chandler and Charlie Wright, but that is all. So e do Fleming Neon. Don't know what his name was but he coached side saddle offense and had a lot of success.

I'd have to put Brent Coleman on there... not only one of the All-Time Greats on the field but really upheld Pikeville well with his service overseas and laying his life down for his country.

Lloyd's would only 1 really really big head.
Or if you had to have four it would be one really really big head and 3 other much smaller heads.

At the risk of not looking over anyone, this would be my choice. I wish there were more than four heads on Mt. Rushmore lol!

Don't know who Ziegler is, so I can't argue that one. Should kiernan be on there before him? Just asking. Other two have a great case.
I will argue Schneider all day. Being there for that many years shouldn't qualify you automatically. One title in that many years? I would put Eddie eviston on there before him. Let's do this.....

Hard to argue with those selections.....as all are very worthy. Strong argument could be made for Doug Howard moving up. However...I don't know if any list could be complete without including arguably the 2nd best player to every don a Belfry Pirate uniform...only behind Rick Kestner...and that would be Flem Bodad Varney. A man among boys when he played at Belfry. Earned a scholarship to Marshall and blew his knee out. Simply a beast on both sides of the ball.

Johnson Central
Bill Musick - Coach (Led JC to their first ever playoff appearance, first ever 10-0 regular season and first ever district title)
Jim Matney - Coach (Led JC to their first ever regional title and Semi-State appearance. Two 10-0 regular seasons and numerous district titles)
JJ Jude - Player (Holds the KHSAA's Career rushing record & Single game rushing record.)
The 4th spot.... I would put Tyler Pack. He currently holds the KHSAA record for the longest field goal as a sophomore and is nationally ranked as a kicker. But their are so many others that could be in that 4th spot.

Tyler is a special kid, but I don't know if I would put him on there yet. Still has two years left. Some past players I could think of are Niel Burchett (First All-State Player), Brian Taylor (Mr Everything in the late 70's), and more recently Ian Welch (30+ career int). This is just strictly based upon ON field performance.

Hard not to put those guys up there. Who would you consider as an alternate? Not familiar with some of the earlier teams but the 78 team had several that possibly could be considered; Bobby Mullins, David LeMaster, BJ Ward. Bobby was a beast that had signed with UK, David was the QB and consistent winner as a coach minus his first year, probably more notable for his baseball career, and BJ was an All-State RB as a Sophomore and Senior, not sure about his Junior year. Mike was the only All-American I believe Paintsville has ever had, Tony was All-SEC at UK and the only guy that I am aware of to play in the NFL and Coach Brugh are locks.

I'm going to do a list for East Ridge. It's just hard though with such a struggling and still developing.
East Ridge
*Coach Terry Morgan - Asst. Coach 02-Present. despite not being the head man, Terry has been a face of the Warriors for nearly every year as an assistant coach. Terry played in the mid 70's for Elkhorn City where he lead the Cougars to the 1973 State Title game
*Coach Brad Allen - Head Coach of the Warriors since 2008. Brad was a graduate of Breathitt County, a well established power in the mountains and came to a place with a losing tradition. He should be highly thought of for his personal love for the school and passion he puts into building the program. Brad has 2 playoff appearances and has the all time coaching record at East Ridge.
*Keith May - Player from 06-09. He led the Warriors to their first playoff appearance ever as well as being named all state defensive end. He holds numerous defensive records for the Warriors. Keith would go on to play college ball and come back to coach at East Ridge.
*Dave Ratliff - Player from 03-06. He previously held the Warrior career rushing record until it was broken in 2010. Dave was a hybrid QB/RB in the side saddle wing-t offense that was used by legendary coach Jack Hall. Dave would go on to play college ball and enlist in the US Marines.
Honorable Mention: Paul Deese, Brandon Ratliff, Bryan Casey, Michael Rowe, Tommy Bingham, Brad Branham, Caleb Epling, Tyler Pigg.
