Didn't change a whole lot. I would guarantee Madison Southern is pissed off about this. Interesting they pulled 2 teams from D7. The east side is loaded with Highlands, Cov Cath, Madison Southern, Harlan County and Pulaski, while Bowling Green should run through the west.
#3
Once Harris is gone MS will slide back to reality. IMO.

Harlan Co. will have to beat both Pulaski's to win the Region. That will be tough to do.

I think that things have gotten tough for Harlan Co to get out of the region.

how will district 8 play out this season whose going to the playoffs and whose going to be siting on the couch at the house? Perry, Harlan, NL, LCC IMO, but could be very well Whitley, Perry, NL, and LCC going. Sleeper teams

Because of the 6 class system, you are going to see a lot of the same teams year after year. In 5A I think you will see a lot of these 3 teams.

Pulaski Co got there district title handed to them.

Yea, Region 1 and 2 of each class are your west teams and will meet in the state semis.

Same goes for Region 3 and 4 as your east teams.
#12
Region 2 might have the best deal of any region when it comes to travel, all are included in the Louisville-Metro area.

The Fern Creek job that came open (now filled) went from being a good job, to a great job IMO (District 4).

Southwestern and Larry French, along with possibly Lincoln County and whoever they name as the new HC might have a little to say about that.

Lincoln County will have a sophomore-freshmen bunch in 15, that will obviously just get older and better every year after that for this alignment, that is as good of a bunch as they have ever had come through there. For what it's worth, they beat North Pulaski this year I believe, and that's saying something, b/c I believe they were loaded once again.

That's actually false. Lincoln led PC 22-0 at halftime at Campbellsville University in the first game of the year. PC came out the 2nd half and scored 44 unanswered points. Yeah, 44 points in one half of middle school football. Later found out that Lincoln was playing a freshman running back in that game and still couldn't get it done. However, he was a good player. The same back also played a significant role in the high school game against PCHS later that same year.

Region 4 is definitely Pulaski County's to lose. However, I do believe that you all will be pleasantly surprised by the improvement of Southwestern. I personally think they'll be clearly 1 & 2 in that region.

Interesting. Last update I received was the halftime score.

Having not been there, it sounds like I need to brush up on my middle school football following of schools I'm two hours from.

Hell, I can't have the most inside scoop from Pikeville to Paducah all of the time. :thatsfunn
#17
I can't wait. I look forward to Highlands slaughtering Bowling Green every year in the state finals.
#18
more than likely ,now we get to see the BG/Highlands match up
#19
How do you think district 8 will play out?

That'll be interesting. I think Harlan and Whitley will be at the top.
#22
I think that you forgot to tell Letcher Central that but we shall see.

I've not seen anything out of LCC that tells me they'll be anywhere above a middle of the pack team in that district.
#24
I love that the Highlands v Bowling Green State championship is a possibility again....
Would like to see Collins still on the other side too... seems like that could develop into a nice rivalry.
Seems like there is not many teams playing for a state championship.... right?

What did you see out of Whitley that puts them at the top?
#26
Glad to see 8 is no longer a 4 team district.

I think it is pretty sad that you are only competing against 38 teams for a state championship! Too many classes!

LCC hasn't had more than 4 wins in a season in around 5 years. Whitley has been somewhat relevant in the past decade. LCC and PCC haven't. I know what they have there to work with right now and I know what they have coming up. It'll all depend on the new coach in my opinion. The hope is that they keep players from transferring to other area schools. Just because they have one bad year, doesn't make their program any less than the other 3 schools in that district I put behind them.

I think cov cath gets over the hump this year are next and beats highlands , good coach and bunch of young talent ,
