2014 56th District Tournament will be held at Danny Wood Field, Estill County High School, home of the Engineers/Lady Engineers.

Dates are: May 19-21

Monday May 19 5:30 PM Estill County vs. Owsley County
Monday May 19 7:30 PM Powell County vs. Lee County
Wednesday May 21 6:00 PM Championship

Estill County has won both regular season games against Owsley County, combine score 49-0 (24-0 & 25-0) and have pretty much dominated Owsley ever since coming to the 56th district.

Powell County took one from Lee county, a 6-1 win earlier in the year over in Stanton. Lee County hasn't been to the district championship nor regional tournament since 2008, where they beat Powell County 8-0. 2/3 years, Lee County has came up short, losing 4-3 to Estill County in 2011, 12-2 to Estill in 2012 and 5-2 @ Powell County last season.

Estill County has won the district back to back years but past two times Estill County has held the district tournament, Powell County has won. Powell County defeated Estill County back in 2006 which was the Engineers first came over to the 56th district, 3-2 in 8 innings in the first round and 14-4 in 5 innings back in 2011.

MP: Powell County 4-3 over Estill County -- Championship

Should be an interesting district tournament. Rumor going around is that this could be Coach Jewell's last season at Lee County.
