Where in the world did this come from? Is this just your personal opinion or do many over in Pond Creek feel this way?

You have got to be crazy to think Haywood would intentionally give away games. He is Belfry football. If most of his staff thinks that way, I would suggest to him to get a new staff. He is there to develop young boys into men by using football to mold their life and make them better people win, lose, or draw. You don't make it to the finals two years in a row and yet you are calling for his head? I don't get it

Who thinks they could fill Haywood's shoes??? They are mighty big shoes to fill.....

bigman............let me guess....your one of those seniors who graduate this year and you didn't get to play alot........so your mad at your coach...............................from what i got from standing onm the sidelines during the russell/belfry game was that the crowd loved him so i have no idea where you got that...........

Haywood MUST be respected for the job he has done at Belfry. To go headhunting for him over SC and Russell-rediculous in my opinion.

Where's the honor in that? I think russell devil 54 hit the nail on the head.
They don't teach honor anymore do they?

Belfry or Haywood has only one way of playing, and that is smashmouth. Everyone knows what they are going to do, it is not a secret. Why change something that is working? There are alot of teams that would love to have the success that Belfry has had under Haywood. I do think that Belfry would be better served to mix a few more passes, but if it works, keep doing it IMO. As far as the playoffs, I think that when playing the better competition a team/coach needs to change things up at least enough to keep the opposing defense on their heels, and that was not done.

I saw him and another player have a dispute and sent him back out on the field at the RUSSELL game.I heard it has happened a few times, but Haywood is Belfry football.Dont let the parents make the call...because he hurt the kids fillings or pushed him in the face-mask.:argue:
12-03-2006, 02:39 AM
wow thats the most ridiculus thing ive ever heard if he goes out at belfry hed be unemployed for about 30 seconds...
12-03-2006, 04:37 AM
Not everyone in Pond Creek feels that way or is that insane. Everyone loves Haywood at Belfry and he will coach until he just can't do it anymore. Too much success to try to get him out of there over 2 games. You can't win them all.

If I didin't know that a lot of kids read these message boards I would cuss you to no extent. But since I do, and I realize you are probably a kid also, I'll refrain from saying what I first wanted to say and, quote me on this, "If that's the way you feel, your parents did a poor job raising you. And you can tell them that. There is a lot more to life than football, and it took me longer than I'd like to admit to realize that. I disagree with some of Coach Haywood's football philosophies, but they are very few. What I do know is that he is a very respectable man, a classy individual, and a person I would love for my children to play ball for. He DEMANDS a player/student to give more than God-given athletic ability on the field, he also demands that they become a moral, upstanding person and so does his staff. If some idiot like you were to call for his resignation, I would hope they accidentally hire someone just like him to coach for the next 30 years."

NOBODY could fill Haywood's shoes!!!!! He not only is one of the most respected coaches but one of the most respected men in the state. Get real Bigman, Haywood is there as long as he wants to be. One way to set back Belfry football is start ridiculous threads like this!

Agree..this thread is BS! He is like JoePa at Penn State and should be allowed to coach until he no longer wants too!

I have to agree with this thread being BS, but everyone should have an opinion about football related issues on a free message board. So I will now state my opinion. Haywood is the best football coach that Belfry has ever had and it would only be a hand full that would want him removed. I have a great deal of respect for Haywood and his style of football. Yes he can be predictable at times, but many still struggle to stop what he does! In 21 seasons at Belfry he has played in 4 state championships games and won two of them. 50% is not so bad for the big stage. He has also had 7 teams in the semi final games (85, 86, 89, 03, 04, 05, and 06). That is not too bad for a football coach. He is listed in the top 5 coaches of all time for wins in the State of Kentucky. Wow, not so bad there either. Anyone that wants him removed for two games in my mind is way out of line and lacks the respect to be called a Pirate. I say let him stay as long as he wants, because it would take years to replace him if that can even be done!!!!!!!!
Haywood the :1:coach for Belfry! :notworthy

He is a classy man who doesn't deserve to be talked about with such disrespect. This whole thread is a load of crap! He should and will IMO be at Belfry until he decides to retire.

That is possibly the most retarted thing I have ever heard in my life!!! Who cares if the other team knows what they are gonna do beause they nevr stop them. They are always one of the best teams in the state so you pretty much don't know what you are talking about.

This thread shows how immature and just flat out stupid people can be when they start pointless thread like this one. Haywood is one of the most legendary coaches in the state of kentucky. Just b/c he had some misques in 2 games doesnt mean he going to lose his job? I will agree that is a big pile of BS.

Belfry football without Phillip Haywood is like Alabama without Bear Bryant. Meaning theyll still be Belfry but will NEVER be as good.
