Florida HS Coaches use brutal tactics to shame transfers
#1
This story is unreal, but it also is reflects some of the strong emotions surrounding high school athletes and their reasons for transferring to another school.

Interesting read

I do not agree with kids getting harassed for transferring. If a kid, or a parent, is genuinely trying to give their child the best chance at success... whether academically, bettering the odds of an athletic scholarship, or simply going to a school that better fits them from a social standpoint.. then let them go. I don't agree with coaches or boosters actively recruiting a kid or giving them an unfair advantage (transportation, housing, money, etc) based on their athletic prowess, but if a family can allow a kid to attend a school that is a better fit and can sacrifice whatever is necessary to do so they should have the right to attend whatever school they wish.

With that said, I have no issue with the coaches at their old school if they want to erase them off the record books from their team. If they want to take down their highlights, remove their stats... that is their prerogative. I am not saying that from a moral standpoint it is the right thing to do, I would hope no coach would want to hinder a kid's chance at a college scholarship, but considering it was the team's film crew and statisticians that came up with that data I cannot condemn a coach for not letting a kid take that with him.

I know very personally of a Northeastern Ky team that allowed a middle school player to be assaulted by a high school player this year, and the middle school player looking to go to a smaller local school was definitely a factor in it. And no I won't give school or player names, but I know for a fact it happened, had a coach laugh to my face over it.

When he laughed in your face, you should have punched him in his mouth, just saying. If a Coach or AD is not in Coaching for the Kids they need to get Out. Case Closed.:dontthink

Did you all see this:
http://kentuckysportsradio.com/main/clas...-messages/

A Kentucky commit from Florida is ineligible for the year. Someone posed as a recruiter from USC and had him send a text with his home address to be reached at. Once eh gave an address different from the District he was living in they turned over to the Florida High School Athletic Association.

Seems the assistant coach in the crosshairs on all of this is also connected to the calpreps website. Hmmmm.

Nah, figured a family friend that coaches another team in the district will assault them enough on the scoreboard the 23rd. :-)
