Mayfield @ Caldwell County 10/30/15
#1
How do yall see this one playing out. Both teams are 8-1. Caldwell has 8 game winning streak after missing potential game winning FG as time expired verses 5a ranked Christian County in 1st game of season. Mayfield has 5 game winning streak after OT loss to 6a ranked McCracken County in a game where they missed a FG as regulation time expired as well. Who wins this one. If you are attending get there early. In 2013 when these 2 met it was a packed house for an instant classic. Will this one live up to the hype like the last meeting in Princeton did. Mayfield is ranked #1 in 2a. Caldwell is ranked #4 in 3a according to last rankings on this site.

Mayfield by 12. Not a cupcake but a Twinkie.

Mayfield is ranked #1 in 2a. Caldwell is ranked #4 in 3a by last rankings on this site. Maybe I should have put in title, but 1st thread ive done, and this is about as good as you can expect from a hick from the Jackson Purchase.

I hope Dreamkiller graces us with his presence. On the other site has stated how Caldwell is going to dine on some Cardinals this week.

If Mayfield shows up and brings the errors and turnovers that have dogged them all year, then it could be a long night.

If Mayfield plays its typical mistake free ball game and controls the line, they will win by two touchdowns. I think its a bigger game for Caldwell than Mayfield.

I agree somewhat on it being a bigger game to Caldwell. Mayfield has some big time rivals that are good. Both of Caldwells rivals are not in the same league anymore so it seems Mayfield is the game they use as there measuring stick these days.

Yes he touched the ball about 3 times last night, and looked good from the highlights I seen on news.

I was estimating I wasn't there. If you say it was 2 I believe you. I may have counted the play he went in but it was fumbled and he never touched it.

Id appreciate it if you took the O out of your last word of my nickname.

Trajon Bright was in for 3 plays last night. 1 play they faked to him and handed to, I think the freshman rb.

My take is MHS 28 CCHS 0

Here is something for one to think about. Christian beat Caldwell. Christian struggled with Graves, who had the game to one touchdown until late. Mayfield almost had a running clock on Graves. Also, PT was tied with Caldwell until late in the second, when PT lost their qb. This is the same PT team that wouldn't have scored against Mayfield if not for 2 gift fumbles and was almost a running clock game as well. Next, is the game last year. They had Mr Football playing at qb instead of a newbee. They also had Cain and all the other boys last year. They only scored once against Mayfield. Now, Mayfield has almost everything back, including the qb and rb duo that won a title just last year. In the words of B A Barrackus, "I predict pain".

What are the two teams that are Caldwells rivals that are not in the same league anymore?

Caldwell has taken their program to a new level these past 4-5 years.. They've always had some good years but they're now consistently putting a solid team on the field and have turned into one of West Kys better programs. Their school is growing and they're dressing 60-70 kids on a regular basis, which has not been the case in past years and their middle school, freshman and JV programs are strong also.. I definitely don't see a blowout, especially being at Caldwell, but, I do think Mayfield's D will get an extra stop or 2 and barring an uneven amount of turnovers, penalties, I think Mayfield will take this one in the 35-21 range..

Anyone predicting a Mayfield shutout perhaps has inside information. Do tell.

Caldwell County 28-21

NOW THAT'S FUNNY RIGHT THERE!! Way to think positive 55 but I don't think we can make them lay a egg they have to much talent. U were talking bets last week.. let's see u strut that football knowledge. .Confusedmoke:

I don't think this is going to be the shootout that most are predicting. I remember this same talk last year. CC had more then than now. They scored 6 on our varsity and 6 on our jv.
#24
It was 14-12 at halftime last year.
#25
Twinkie time. Cardinals will enjoy the cream filling.
#26
Imma say they are even if not a little better this year.. not much but maybe a little.. they lost Mr Football but seem to have found a pretty close fill in.. Cain is a year older an stronger.. this new shifty rb that has arised reminded me of the Jaylin Boyd kid they had several years ago that we couldn't touch.. in Princeton, I'll be suprized if we win by 2 or 3 tds.

Don't know where you keep coming up with them only scoring on Mayfields starters 1 time. They scored twice. The first was the over the shoulder throw to Dee Cain that was questionable if it was a td since it came out as he went to the ground in the endzone defended by Kennemore. The 2nd td was when Sindelar was running for his life towads the visitors side, but a db left Elijah Anderson wide open on a very long pass. No one was within 15 yards of Anderson when he caught it.

Anybody who has watched football knows anything can happen. Botched punt Michigan State returns block for the win. Blocked field goal Georgia Tech returns for the win.

I don't buy them being better. There offense isn't as potent, although still very good. Everyone says there D is better, but they said the same thing last year. They gave up 27 to Tilghman without a starting Qb. They gave up 35 to a mediocre North Hardin. IMO Mayfield will have to beat Mayfield. If the team that shows up is the turnover prone, heavily penalized team that is struggling to complete short passes could be a long night. If the team wakes back up to the team I seen roll through Tilghman I think they win. 1 thing is for sure it helps Caldwell being at home a good bit. The crowd wont rattle Mayfield, but it will pump up there boys. In 2013 there crowd was huge, and loud and Caldwell seemed to feed off the big audience. Last year being at Mayfield they didn't seem to respond well to adversity on the road.

Well it sounds like a good reason for me to break out the film tonight when I get home from work to see if I am remembering correctly. Either way, if they scored once or twice last year on our varsity and they are not as tough this year on offense and our defense is older and better, what does that spell. Trust me a crowd does nothing to effect a team like Mayfield unless they are so loud that we can't hear the plays. I don't think that will happen since it's not in a dome.
