KCC lost there star running back and there star wide reciever but they still have talent on that team so how do you all think they will do?

theyll be about the same as usual. The loss of Bobby Owens hurts but, they will be alright if they get in the weightroom.

Losing Bobby O really hurt but i think kcc will pull threw in the weight room and will be a little bit better than last year.

It will be a continuos bout, year-in, year-out for the #4 spot against Cawood.
That's as good as KCC will ever be, IMO.

About 12 years ago I ran the chain gang at a Lynn Camp Vs KCC game. KCC's Head coach was an old gray headed fella that would smoke cigarettes and use some of the worst profanity I have heard on a sideline at a football game.
Is he still there? What is his name?

The question is, what have you been smoking? KCC has never played Lynn Camp in Corbin , they have palyed but it has been at KCC or neutral site. Jay Cobb was the Head Coach in the time line you used.

You beat me to it killerb.
02-20-2007, 02:20 PM
Look it up. Knox County Central at Lynn Camp.
I'm pretty sure it wasn't Knott Co Central.
BTW why the sarcasm KillerB? All I did was ask a question.

First of all this is a Knott Co. Central thread, and second, you makes remarks about language and smoking on the field (which is not true), so yes I guess there is some sarcasm for people who make posts about things of which they know nothing!

Show me where on this thread the distiction was made between Knox and Knott before I posted.
I got one for ya.
Your team will Knott make it to Louisville this year or any year for that matter.
See I can be just as big a jerk as you can be.

All of my posts have been about Powell Co. Knott is an intirging program also. They, like Powell, have a quality Head coach now. It will be interesting to see how/if these programs can be turned around. What is the prognosis at Knott. What type of feeder program do they have? Who are the assistants? I remember they had a pretty decent middle school team a couple of years ago. Does Coldwell and Thornbarry still coach there? (sorry if I did not get the names exactly). I met Coldwell and he seemed to be a very knowledgeble football coach. Also, congrats to the Owens kid on signing with Pikeville College. Support these programs and my best wishes to both.

Let me start off by saying good luck to powell co. next year. Now first knott's prognosis is pretty good, they may not be a great team this season but they have alot of potential to be one in furture years. They will be a good team this season though don't get me wrong on that. The feeder program they have is they have five 7th-8th grade teams, and five 5th-6th grade teams. They are trying to start a flag football team for the younger grades. They have 5 assistant coaches. I remember four of them Coach Kyle Vance(returning from last year) Coach Justin Bates (also returning from last year) Coach Allen (was there for a little while but had to leave for school.) Coach Slone (First year as a coach) And there is a WR coach not sure of his name but from what i hear he is a pretty good coach. They did have a good middle school program a couple of years ago they went 9 and 3 season. with losses to pcc twice and fleming neon once. No neither of those coaches are still there.

Wow! That's awesome. Sounds like the program is headed in the right direction. What is the schedule for the '07 season? Knott has a very competative grid each year, who is playing this year? Coldwell spoke highly of Thornbarry and a couple more, Mullins and Smith (mike/mark, not sure). Where are they coaching now?
Powell is putting togather a really good staff and I believe they will show alot of improvement. Pretty neat that both head coaches are from Leslie and taking on huge challenges.
Powell, Knott, Betsy Layne, Magoffin and other similar programs that have been down in the past seem to be making strides in building competative programs. I would really like to see all of these programs become more sucessful. It all starts with feeder programs and player retention. Stay positive/Work hard.

The new WR coach's name is Coach Melton. I've done forgot his first name.I thinkk he use to play for Leslie Co. back when Tim Couch played.

knott central will go no where this year.. pcc will beat them again, shows how bad they are? :]] a bunch of freshman will do nothing this year,, maybe next year if they hit the weights..
03-23-2007, 01:32 PM
I think they will be the same as they always are...anyone know there schedule??
03-23-2007, 02:27 PM
Eddie Melton? He used to coach at Leslie Co. too. He works for the KVE and is stationed over there. Coach Beder was his Defensive Coordinator at Leslie from ' 91-'94. Hes a really good coach. Very aggressive and knows what he is doing. Great pick-up for Knott CO. as far as coaches go.
