I see this as a bad move backwards for the Chargers. He has failed as a head coach before and will again. What does everyone else think about this selection?

Yeah this is a bad move. They hired a coach who has one of the worst winning percentages in NFL History. Wonder what A.J. Smith was thinking here?

I agree with STATS 100%

yeah, wonderful move San Diego...fire the guy who took you to 14-2, and hire a guy with one of the worst winning percentages in history...makes perfect sense...Norv Turner is a career coordinator.

Norv Turner isn't that great of a coach in my book either but he is an offensive coach nonetheless so that means he is loaded. He has LT, Antonio Gates, Philip Rivers, and Shawn Merriman on defense to jack up anyone who comes within 10 yards of him. Norv Turner did go to a Super Bowl with the Oakland Raiders and had a similar team, the only 2 differences i can see is the Chargers of today are younger than Jerry Rice, Tim Brown, Rich Gannon, Lincoln Kennedy and the Oakland Raiders of '03. The Chargers of today also has a running back who is quite possibly the greatest running back that'll ever play. Thas another topic by the way. Give Turner the players and he can do something but I didn't see the reasoning behind firing Marty Schottenheimer. He lost to a good team in the playoffs; it's not like he went for 4th and 30 in the 1st quarter 6 times. Marty is a good coach and it'll bite San Diego back later on down the road cause they will probably be seeing him across the sidelines.
