#4

I saw a ghost over a month ago. I was driving on a little curvey road going home and there was an older woman standing behind the guard rail with her arms open staring right at me. Needless to say it freaked me plumb out after it registered what I had seen a few minutes later. How do I know it was a ghost? Well behind that guard rail was a 90ft drop straight down...nothing was there for a person to stand on, kinda floating if you know what I mean. I've also heard many things...growing up, I lived in a historic home that was over 110's old. Apparently a man took his own life with a gun in my bed room. I've heard people walk up and down the steps, bouncing around in the home, and even as much as scuff their feet on the floor and open the refridgerator door...when no one else was home. So I guess I'm lucky...lol.

About ten years ago my wife and I experienced something that to this day we cannot explain! We were in the bed at my sister’s house near Danville Kentucky. It is one of the oldest houses in the county and has a great deal of history behind it. The house was built in the 1700’s. Something grabbed my leg from under the bed and held it to the bed. I began to kick and it woke my wife up. I turned the window air conditioner off and I got back in the bed and discussed what had just happened to me with my wife. We talked for about 2 to 3 minutes and the air conditioner kicked back on! The air conditioner didn’t have a thermostat. It had a regular turn on or off switch. To this day I have never slept in that room. My step niece is deaf and that was her room while she was growing up. She told my sister that ghosts were good on several occasions while she was young. I don’t understand what happened that night but it was something very weird. Many people in that community say that the house is haunted. There is one window that the shutter stays closed due to the fact that many in the community say that people have wrecked in front of the house after seeing ghosts in the window if the window shutters are open. This house has been everything from a civil war post to a slave plantation. The house has wooden pegs that were used to put the house together. We never saw anything, but some wild things took place that night.

This house was also featured in a Louisville news paper one year during the Halloween season due to the many stories that have been told about this house.

LOL...well I did move out shortly after my last experience in that house. It was the summer before my last year in college. I was at the house and a buddy of mine came over. I don't know if it was the booze or what, but we were in the living room and a radio turned on upstairs. I went to check it out and the radio was still a goin', but it was laying in the center of the floor....unplugged from the wall and had no batteries in it. Glad to say I don't live there anymore, I'd probably be at a shrink or in a padded room with a white coat on....hahaha.

I was around 10 and my cousin was 18. He was spending the night with us so I let him have my bedroom. Our couch in the den folded out to make a bed so I slept in there. I heard something in the kitchen was is right on the other side of the couch with no wallks or anything separating it. The linoleum popped like it does when you step in a couple of places. I was at the foot of the bed closest to the TV and I turn around and look. It looked just like a garden knome walking in the kitchen, directly behind the couch. It scared the living heck out of me but I just froze and it was gone. The next morning I awoke to my cousin talking to my mom at the kitchen table behind me. He told her that he was in my bed trying to sleep when he heard the closet door open. He thought it was pretty weird because he knew that it had been shut before but he just went back to sleeping. A little while after that he heard it slam shut and then something that sounded like it was inside of the closet laugh. I asked him "You saw it too?" and then I told him what had happened to me. We have told all of our family members this story and our friends as well but no one believes us. He is 27 years old with a wife and a kid, I am now 19, we know what we saw and it has been this long and still no one believes us. He has not spent the night since then and is basically scared to death to.

You know how they say that children can see ghosts at a very young age because of innocence and stuff? Well, shortly after my uncle Gary had got killed on a four wheeler, I was walking with my baby cousin around my yard and stuff. She was about 2 1/2 years old at the time and I was just spending some time with her showing her flowers and things of that nature. I took her down to the creek and was saying like "rock" "fish" "water" trying to expand her vocabularly. So, we go back in the house and her mom came to pick her up. We were all sitting in the living room and I was like "Tell Mommy what we saw today" and she said "creek" and I told her to tell her mom what we saw down at the creek and she replies "Bubby Gary". We were all stunned at that but then we asked her what he was doing and she says "talking" and we asked her talking to who and she says "to Lexie".

Lexie got really sick one night and had a temperature of around 103. She finally fell asleep that night and when her mom went to check on her the next morning she smelled EXACTLY like my grandfather's cologne (her great-grandfather)...who had passed away 7 months before she was born.

She used to kiss my grandfather (her great-grandfather) when she was little and called him Big Pops and just go on like she had known him forever and loved him very much but she had never met him. Her mom was pregnant with her when he was getting really sick and she said that she would name her after him so her middle name Rhae is a tribute to my papaw Raymond.

I printed off all of the haunted places in Kentucky from that shadowlands site before. It was tons and tons of pages but I wanted to read them while at school. Some of the stuff is made up though because just anyone can go and submit stuff. The thing about Feds Creek High School isn't true. I went there for 2 years myself and had almost all of my family members attend as well and none of that stuff happened.

I went once when I was in high school.....it was rainy so we didn't get out very long. Always wanted to go back, but never have been able to.

I hear that the story behind Frozen really isn't true. I would have loved to go before I found this out. I heard that it wasn't really that creepy either and being in a smaller group made it a little better. There was an awesome website that people put together after their trip and it WAS pretty freaky.

One of the dorms has been leveled, and the rest of the place is in shambles. I didn't get the chance to see the cellar, but supposedly that's where all the children died during the flood.
#25
That's the thing Irish, I heard that the whole flood thing was b.s.

#26
I've never heard that version of it, but if someone made that story up about kids drowning then they are sick in the head.

I'm not sure if they are or not, but I have a difficult time explaining what happened to me. I have no reason to lie about it!
