Laundry Catastrophe...
#1
Okay so earlierI was in the laundry room in the lobby of my dorm doing laundry and I'm guessing I rubbed against a machine that someone had spilled bleach on and it got on my favorite black shirt. It was just a little spot but VERY noticeable since it was on my stomach. I went to wal-mart nad bought some RIT black fabric dye and have been trying to dye the spot back black. So far the spot seems to be getting darker, I just have to keep a check on it to make sure none of the writing on the shirt gets messed up. Does anyone else have any suggestions. I wouldn't worry so much about it but the shirt was like 40 dollars at a concert so.....also do you think the dye will ned up working or do you think I am just wasting my time?

dab a little black paint on it LOL or maybe try a black dry marker...you may have to use it after every washing, tho

It will probably build it back up enough that it isn't noticeable. It will be better than having a bleach spot but I haven't used black so I'm not sure that it will dye a dark, perfect match. Keeping trying it though. I know what you mean about shirts, I would die if some of my vintage ones got messed up or like you said, an event that I went to that I really wanted a token from.

Use a permanent black marker. This always works for me!

So the shirt is dry today and the bleach spot is darker... I think I am going to try it one more time except this time i am going to dab a little of the black dye right on the spot instead of the entire bottom of the shirt so that hopefully the bottom part wont be darker than the top...if it doesn't work then I am going to try to a black sharpie and hopefully it works....
