Ended like we expected at the beginning of the season. Congrats to Bwood and Raceland. Beechwood for the moment has one more title than Mayfield. Raceland also now has state championship experience to build on. Look at Hazard of 2010 and 2011 and then Wburg of 2013 and 2014. That should help for next year.

Tough loss for Raceland. Beechwood is just such a good team. Raceland just got shut down on every level. Hard to win a game with 27 yards. On the flip side, they made it and played on the carpet. congrats to them for that.

Look folks, for a Class A mountain school to beat a Beechwood team you have to be better than very good.... They get in good players, play a good schedule, great history..... Their program turned around back in the late 80's when Pikeville had those kind of teams.... I remember than the staff at Beechwood saying they were going to do all they could possibility do be the same kind of team.... AND THEY DID IT... Pikeville could not sustain it..... But have had their share of very good years, and winning over some really good teams.... Beechwood's mentality is what it takes, however they have a great advantage over most small schools....market they live in produces some really good talent.... But congrats to Raceland on a very good season....

Bittersweet day for me. Having attended Raceland kindergarten through graduation I have waited for this day for many years. I have seen many Raceland teams with much more talent and always fall short. These guys may be devastated right now but they have something none of 88 previous Raceland teams have, an appearance in the state title game. They made the communities of Raceland and Worthington so proud this week. I hope they can build upon this game win it all. They have nothing to be ashamed about, these guys far exceeded the expectations given to them at the beginning of the year. Proud to be a Ram today.

Raceland fans..... Driving home from Bowling Green in 2015 after South Warren beat JC 36-6, I thought our one and only chance at winning a state championship was gone. Fast forward two seasons and our team is poised to win back-to-back 4A crowns.

The Rams will be back. From now until the 2018 1A title game, wear those state runner-up shirts with pride. Your program has won Districts, Regionals, Semi-State and now State Runner-Up trophies. The big Golden Football is the only thing missing in the trophy case..... tell the Ag. Department or woodshop class to build a special trophy case just for the 2018 Class 1A State Championship trophy.

Vince McMahon told his staff to book the SliverDome for WrestleMania III before the main event of Andre vs. Hogan was announced. He is quoted as saying "You book it and we'll fill it." 93,173 people later, WM3 had the largest indoor attendance record for years. Build a trophy case for the state title trophy and leave it empty.... put it in the locker room or the weight room so the players will have that reminder of why they are working so hard in the off-season.

Pretty sure b-wood has been a state power for a while pretty sure they have more state titles then Mayfield now

Beechwood was the much better team and was very well coached . Raceland had a hell and of a season and I’m very proud of the boys and the coaches . This Raceland team had some obious weakness and They got exposed today , great year to build on and now that you’ve been there next step is to win it all
