Should I...

drop my Spanish minor???

This is something I am really struggling with. I REALLY want to minor in nad be fluent in Spanish for the job market and possibly a potential residence but if I keep it then that means having a full 18 hour load next year when I'm taking Anatomy and Physiology along with two hard math classes and other randon gen ed's I have to get done. After that it means that I will have a minimum of 16 or 17 hours when I'm doing Advanced Anatomy, Neuroanatomy and all my OT classes PLUS summer school EVERY SUMMER...

However if I drop the minor then I can rearrange my classes to where I will only have probably 15 hours every semester which I can deal with.... I haven't checked to see how exactly it would arrange but that's what I'm assuming.

Also, if I drop the minor I can still take more spanish courses other than the two intoductory ones I have to take if I have room in my schedule for them

Any advice?

If it were ME then I would drop it as my minor and take the courses when I could. This way you can do it at your own leisure. I know that it has been something that you have wanted for quite a while but you can never overwhelm yourself with school. Things start going downhill from there. I always said that I was going to major in forensics but now I am going to major in criminal justice and take all of the forensic classes as my electives. It's a lot easier that way and I don't have the chemistry classes like I would if I got my B.S. in it.

Yeah I am leaning more towards dropping it and seeing how the hours fall into place and maybe I can get it as a emphasis? If nothing else I will have the basics.

I would take a middle east language,,,guaranteed big bucks

I think EKU only offers Spanish, French, Japanese and maybe German. I'm *hopefully* going to live somewhere in the South when I get out of school and get a job...My dream location in somewhere in Southern Flordia in or near Miami but as long as I'm on a beach so with the large Hispanic population Spanish would be good. Like I said I can always take spanish courses if I have the time throughout different semesters, I am just going to have to wait and see because right now with my spanish minor I'll have to take one or two spanish courses from EKU during the summers.

Well, you don't have to finish in exactly four years...that way you can keep your spanish minor.

Also, I would highly suggest that you do not take Anatomy and Physiology in the same semester. Physiology is a ridiculously hard class. Ridiculous.

I wasn't planning on taking anatomy and physiology in the same semester anyway.I just didnt want to take 18 hours when I was taking them. After I graduate with my bachelors in 3 more years, I am getting my masters in OT and after those two years I'll be getting my doctorates or Ph.D. So i kinda have to graduate in 4 years...

There isn't a time limit on when you can apply for a graduate program. If it takes you 4.5 years or 8 years, you can still apply and do all of those things. Also, I think it is pretty unlikely these days for anyone to finish in 4 years.

I can finish in 4 years if I keep my grades up all the way through and pass all my classes. I know there isn't a time limit but I don't want to be in school forever, I'd like to get out and start my life.
