Corbin 36 Whitley County 7
#1
Final.

This game was played under flash flood warnings!!

Safe travels home everyone!

Dang it Corbin! I predicted 35-7. Way to make me look stupid!!!

Until you change the culture this will keep happening.

Corbin was smart enough to get away from there bad culture. They got rid of a coach who couldn't win that couldn't get players to play for him.

That's the difference. It all starts on the sidelines.
I'm not sure what type of offense that was Whitley was running, but it's not going to win many games.

I was impressed by Esteps ability to get the ball quickly out of his hands and accurately to his playmakers on the outside. I thought it would take a few weeks for the offense to adjust but it looked like he had a really nice feel for the QB position already. Corbin overall was just quicker at every position and they took advantage of it time and again.

Shocked that Whitley County was so one dimensional for long stretches of the game. There just wasn’t enough misdirection and variation in the play calling. Corbin’s D was reading everything. Whitley looked like they had a decent QB when they actually let him throw some. Hopefully the new skill players will start to settle into their roles and the playbook will be opened up more.

I watched this game online, Corbin was just better, period. I think Whitley will win some games, but the Hounds were just too fast for them.

I don't know how smart it is to judge a team from one game, but if you can, it appeared to me that Corbin is better than last year. It will be interesting to watch them as they progress throughout the year.

Granny Bear this is the quickest team in Haddix 5 years this team is going to be special Wait and see loaded at WR,Qb with speed, RB speed and quickness and 11 horseman on defense. It's all true. :relaxing:

I guess we’ll see about Corbin and whether they’re better than last year honestly with the way Whitley played there’s no way I can say that “yet” maybe later. Corbin very athletic but when Whitley fumbles 4 or 5 times 2 on kickoffs, Corbin scores on basically a couple of jump balls For sure better than Whitley but better than last year I’m not there yet

Anybody know which way the river flow in Corbin, just a little worried about PJ making it home. Leave the ladder PJ Confusednicker:

Best Corbin Team I've seen, much improved over last season, I always thought 12 should have been the QB. I'm predicting it now....THIS IS THE YEAR

How can you honestly say this the best corbin team you’ve ever seen, based on one game, in a monsoon, against a team that hasn’t even been evaluated yet? Hahah.

Given you have 16 post I don’t know if you’re a troll or just new??? If you’re new, then welcome. It’s a good place to discuss football. Especially southeast and central teams. But if that’s the case. What are you basing your claim on? Because I’ve seen them in two scrimmages and while the defense is NASTY! I couldn’t even with some confidence say this is the best team we’ve had- YET........

I have much respect for Corbin and hound can tell ya that. Never said a negative thing about the team but all praise to them and the phenomenal athletes that I saw play first hand last year. That being said, you beat whitley county (sorry dougie). you beat the least of challenges you will have this year.

That being said, happy for the redhounds and wish them the best this year and hope for an injury free year. Use to call on eastern ky and love the folks there. I'm hoping I get to travel there later in the season. BTW, the helmets look AWESOME!!

Idk how many teams you’ve seen or what your criteria for making that statement are. I will say that I hope you’re correct. I hope this team ends up being the best team Corbin has ever had, but I’ll settle for a state championship. We can argue the whole “who’s the best team ever” later. Lol

IMHO...this is NOT the best Corbin team ever. My statement that they appeared to be better than last year was based on how poised the QB was, how they changed up the game when the running didn't work and how the defense swarmed, fell and swarmed again.

Only one game, I know so this is a shaky observation; nevertheless I think I could tell a difference.

But what do I know?

I'm not short for words. Nothing better than sticking with one team for life. keep crowing little rooster.

Estep is an athlete and a leader in any sport. He will make their offense harder to defend and the season goes on. Whitley County reverted back to their old one dimensional offense. it's hard to get anything going when the defense knows what you're going to do and stacks the box.

Now I can reason with someone saying they appeared better than last year. And I think they might be. But the other poster saying this the best corbin team they’ve ever seen based on what we have is a little out there. I agree with you on the defense. It’ll probably be our bread and butter. Overall, we still have a long ways to go in my opinion

Geeeesh PAL!!!! don't get your little pink bloomers in such a freaking wad over a post, I've lived in KY 5 years, been following Corbin football 3, so this is the best Corbin Team I've seen, that is what I said isn't it, I've seen, so it's my opinion.... As far as the rest of your ignorant comments and accusations ...well.... no words get a life.....

Basically Whitley stunk up the field. And believe me I am colonels through and through. Its gonna be a long season and we all knew it would be. The defense should've been great. but we all seen how that went.
