Best RBs in East KY
#1
Who are they?
#2
Of course im partial but Raceland has two pretty good ones in Hunter Lacks and Judd Adkins. Not just by running the ball but in all phases. They both lead block well, pick up blitzes pretty well, and both can line up in the slot and or be a threat in the passing game out of the backfield as well.
#3
Noah Wesr in Lawrence County is a hoss as well.
#4
Joe Jackson - Johnson Central.

Seems like Belfry always have a couple of good, speedy backs. This year Isaac Dixon is absolutely tearing it up for the Pirates and he's only a sophomore. I've heard that he's been clocked in the mid 4.4's. Junior RB/DB Ben Bentley is doing the same. I knew Bentley was pretty fast but man, the kid has hit another gear since he's been put in the offensive backfield. I think their the best duo of running backs in the mountains. Maybe one of the best duo's in the state, IMO.

Joe Jackson is a stud!

I agree with all these young men this posters have mentioned. Plus Zack Roberts may not have the big numbers that these backs do but he is the one that makes Pikeville’s offense so effective. He is as important to this team as any of the others to theirs but I am bias and I admit it. As always GO PANTHERS!!!

Haven’t saw one with as much raw talent in the area as L. Cline for West Carter.

Pittman at Ashland can also fly, like he’s so fast he almost literally flies.

Landon Swartz is good for Bath.
#9
Cook from Lynn Camp averaging 20 yards a carry

Robert's made a believer out of me when he did what he did against my Pirates. Great football player.

A lot of these players I haven’t seen but this is a good thread for discussion and give these young men some props. They well deserve it

Also, I don’t know what you all consider EKY, but Skidmore from Powell County could play for anyone in the state. Hard runner!

Buddy, I've been confused as to who is considered to be Eastern Kentucky football, mountain football, etc for a long time now, Lol! I wish we had a geological map showing a list of who exactly is considered mountain football teams to clarify the question or have someone more knowledgeable than me to explain it to some of us.

When you get it pass it on to me because I have never figured it out either and their is not many that as far eastern as we do in Kentucky

Cline is a great player, it’s a shame he doesent have the offensive line to help him as much as the players like Lacks, Swartz, Jackson, and Pittman
#18
Just to name a few... Ethan Varney (Prestonsburg) Joe Jackson (Johnson Central) Noah West (Lawrence County). West plays QB, but he’s a tank. Also the RB from Shelby Valley is pretty tough.

I knew both Dixon and Bentley were good backs, until the Pikeville/Belfry game, then I saw how good they were. Hard to believe they're that good as a Soph. and Jr. respectively. I think we're going to be reading about them for some time to come.

Agree. Zack Roberts was very impressive running the ball right into the middle of a good Belfry defense on long drives down field, and score. We didn't see so much of that last season out of him, but we're seeing more of it now up to this point. Also impressed by Jesse sparks with those short yardage runs, strong young man.

Seth Johnson - Shelby Valley... Only downfall I’ve seen of him thus far is he puts the ball on the turf

But the kid has speed that is unmatched in our area and runs tough for a undersized back.

Dixon and Jackson are the best I have seen this year. Johnson and Bentley are right there as well. No coincidence that Belfry and JC also have the best lines I have seen as well.
#23
13th-16th regions is what I consider eastern/mountain but that's just me. Haven't seen him yet but anxious to watch the boy from Perry County.
#24
Anything WYMT covers is eastern kentucky in my opinion. with that being said I have to agree skidmore for powell is one of the toughest young men i have seen.
#25
Halstead from GC has 900+ yrds and 12 tds this season already. On a team that throws alot. Only rb with more yards in neky with more is the kud from bath.

Halstead is a solid and tough running back. His biggest downfall is no fault of his own and thats the work load. He is has to shoulder 90% of greenups carries each week and though he is stout and strong, against the better teams that have depth upfront, he is wore the hell out by games end. but to his credit, he never quits.

Bath County's Landan Swartz is one of the best RB's around. 200 +/- yards a game average for the 2nd year in a row is good no matter who you are.
