Covington Catholic @ Pulaski County 11/23
#1
The Covington Catholic Colonels come into this game with a perfect record of 13-0 and are the #1 team in the state! Thats really all that needs to be said.

The Pulaski County Maroons come into this one with an overall record of 11-2. They're playing in their 5th State Semi Final in the last 6 seasons and will be looking to make it to their 5th State Championship game in the last 6 seasons.

Who do you have in this one and why?

Cov Cath is the better team by far. The only thing PC has going for them is that embarrassment of a field. Cov Cath still wins by 14.
#3
Cov cath is in playoff mode and on the warpath. I don’t see this being close.

CovCath - 41
Pulaski - 13

Lets not be too quick to count out the Maroons! They're 23-1 at PC Field in the playoffs. They have a much better defense than what they're given credit for. Not to mention, they have the best QB/WR duo in the state in Wiley Cain and Jake Sloan.

Lanter/Smith at Boyle Co is pretty dang good.

Go Maroons!

This game is at 6:00. Anyone know the reason for the time change? It’s one of only 2 games in the 12 that are left that aren’t playing at the typical 7:30.

Pulaski’s win streak comes to a screeching halt.

Pulaski hasn't seen anything close to what they are about to run up against.
The only thing keeping this from being a complete blowout will be the field.
CCH will have to win more methodically than they are use to, but they will win comfortably.

I agree mostly but I still think Cov cath will ultimately continue doing what they do. I can’t see Coach Eviston altering much because of field condition. He would consider that soft. If they have to run the ball more I’m sure he’s fine with that, but they are still going to take plenty of shots down field. At least I’d think.

I've thought all year that Cov.Cath is the best team in the state and nothing has changed my mind. Catholic advances to Kroger Field.

I have never seen a few fans complain so much over having to play football on a muddy field. Last I checked this sport called football was played outside. It is November and with November does come cold, wet weather. When football games are played in cold, wet weather, natural grass fields usually turn muddy. if your team can't stand to play on a muddy field, may be football isn't for you. Maybe you should try indoor sports instead. Suddenly, I'm a huge Pulaski County fan.

Corbin's field has had the same amount of rain and it's not a pig pen. There is no excuse for the Pulaski Co field to be as pathetic as it is. It's a health hazard plain and simple. It has nothing to do with a team not wanting or being able to play on it.

Artificial turf fields can be health hazards too.

Funny part is, I’ve yet to see an actual Cov Cath fan complain about the field.

Pulaski is a great team but Cov Cath is on another level. Good luck to both teams!
#22
Phil Russell turf management group will have the sprinklers running 24 hours a day this week trying to bring back the Bermuda grass but it wont be enough to stop Cov. Cath from advancing.

Yes, it can be but it is worth the risks.

I don't remember ever seeing a Pulaski County field that ain't muddy.

I personally don’t understand how people think the muddy field gives Pulaski county an advantage? They are playing football and to me, that means Cov Cath has the overwhelming advantage.

Cause Cov Cath wants to hand out the tail whipping early, so maroon fans can still have some time to go out and enjoy their Friday evening.

Pulaski feels like they have the advantage because they have been playing in it for weeks and have a big RB. Have they seen Cov Cath? Cov Cath definitely has the advantage.

Thank you!!! It's football, not field hockey! Grow a set and get over it!
