Franklin-Simpson vs Johnson Central (4A Championship) 12/1
#1
This game is being played on Saturday, December 1st at 4:30PM.

This will be the grudge match between these two, being the third consecutive meeting for the 4A State Championship! Both of these juggernauts come into this one with an identical record of 13-1!

Who you got and why?

Johnson Central is going after revenge and beat Franklin Simpson, hope they let Pulp bring his sound system so he can show Kroger field how to really rock. Now Eagles go do your jobs and bring the 4A state title back to Paintsville

Cats by 10. Too much speed!!!
#4
Golden Eagles by 7.
#5
Johnson Central will have their best player on the field this year, a top five running back in the state regardless of class plus a bunch of returning starters. Franklin-Simpsons' scores have not been as impressive as they were last year. Still a close game...

They have heard to much speed and great passing games all year we will see good luck to both teams , it is quite an accomplishment what both teams have done over the past 3 years , now it is time for some good Ole Ky High School Football 🏈 4A Style !!

Who will be the home team.
#8
Johnson Central by 7 they are one of the best run blocking teams I’ve seen this year
#9
Johnson Central wins this one. Nobody will convince me Franklin Simpson has anymore speed than my Belfry Pirates has and Johnson Central shut that down. So I don't see FS speed being a problem for the Eagles. I think this game will be played somewhat the same way the Eagles played the Pirates with about the same score and outcome.

If Johnson Central fumbles early and often, then this may be a close game. Otherwise, there is no way that Franklin-Simpson will stop Johnson Central's running game.

Anything can happen in a State Championship game. But, I like JC in this one.

FS have size too. They have great linemen on both sides of the ball. I don’t think this FS team is as good as last years, but I do think they will win this game. Goodluck to both teams.

JC thought that last year and FS stopped their run. The only way JC wins this game is that they put it in the air. FS run defense has been really good as of late.

This Johnson Central offense is equal to or better than the offense was in 2016. Led by sophomore RB Joe Jackson and freshman QB Riley Preece, that JC team beat FS 48-0. This JC offense is lead by senior RB Joe Jackson, who missed last season's playoffs, and junior QB Riley Preece, who will be starting at quarterback in his third straight state 4A championship game.

The JC offense that Franklin-Simpson will face next week has much more in common with the one that they faced in 2016 than in 2017, only this one is much more experienced.

Franklin-Simpson may win next week, but FS better bring a better team to the stadium than the one that won the state title last season. The Wildcats had the better team last season, but they will not be playing the 2017 edition of the Golden Eagles again.

I don’t know my friend. FS is the real deal. Preston will have them locked and loaded. FS does have a lot of team speed. I think controlling QB Preece will be the real challenge. However....JC I believe will struggle on the edges defensively. FS have some atheletes. Gonna be very very interesting

No doubt FS is good or they wouldn't be playing this weekend. But just seeing how JC played us and our speed didnt cause them to much trouble I still say it'll be about the same result.

Personally I don’t think this FS team is better than the 2017 bunch, but I don’t think JC is either. FS just digs deep and finds a way. I’m not taking away from JC. They are a great team and adding Jackson back helps their backfield, but I still think FS gets the win. FS 27-17

This years JC team is 2 to 3 TD better than 2017 team.

I think they’re better no doubt. But....the sentiment on this board last year was “JC will blow FS out”. And obviously, we know that didn’t happen. For folks who haven’t seen FS play....or at least haven’t seen film on them....believe me....they’re talented. They’re fast. These games normally come down to turnovers, penalties and field position. I’m predicting a slobber knocker. No blowout either way.

Go Cats!
#23
As a JC fan i think this team is better too to bottom from the team last year. I have more confidence in our offenses ability to move the ball on the ground with Jackson, Johnson, Preece this year. But Franklin-Simpson is just as potent rushing the ball as well. It’s going to be a hard fought victory and I see this being a very even matchup.
#24
Go Eagles, Saturday belongs to you.
#25
This one will come down to turnovers and special teams. Eagles turn to win. JC by 7.
#26
With a Corbin region finals and a Boyle semi-state JC better take advantage of this years opportunity because after this season the road gets a little tougher to Kroger Field

Not true. The KHSAA is implementing a cross bracketing system for all classes except 1A for 2019-2022. They will also be re-seeding the final four in each class.

In 2019 Johnson Central’s district will be in the same region as district 6. District 6 includes Boyd County, Harrison County, Holmes, Rowan County and Scott.

In 2020 Johnson Central’s district will be in the same region with district 4. The teams in district 4 are Louisville Central, Franklin County, North Oldham, Shelby County and
Waggener.

In 2021 Johnson Central’s district will be in the same region as district 5. The teams in district 5 are Anderson County, Bourbon County, Boyle County, and Lexington Catholic.

And finally in 2022 Johnson Central’s district will be in the same region as district 7. District seven includes Corbin, Knox Central, Lincoln County, and Wayne County.

It looks like your Tigers will still have to go through Raceland in the regions for the next four years.
#28
It will all depends on the re-seeding of semifinals. Johnson Central’s district won’t be in the same region with Corbin and Boyle until 2021 and 2022.
#29
The series is tied 1-1, both games have been in the 4A state championship.

2016: Johnson Central 48-0
2017: Franklin-Simpson 35-21

JC & F-S have no common opponents this season.
