Has anyone seen Kings Island's new rollercoaster Firehawk? It looks pretty cool. Looks kind of like the Superman ride at Cedar Point, where the riders lay flat as if they were flying. I hope to check it out sometime this summer.
You can watch a clip of it here:

Cedar Point doesn't have a ride called Superman, or any ride where you lie flat. I think I remember seeing something about that ride on Discovery channel, but I believe it may be at Universal Studios or somewhere in Orlando.
That said, between the Millenium Force and the Raptor, Cedar Point rules!!

I just got back from Cedar Point a couple of days ago. I absolutely love it there. It is by far the all around best amusement park ever. I went to CP a few years for the first time, and then went to KI last summer, and I hated it. It just doesn't compare at all. Nothing compares to the Millenium Force, Top Thrill Dragster, Magnum XL-200, Raptor, Wicked Twister.......... etc. etc. etc.
FYI, The Firehawk at KI comes from Cedar Point's sister park Geuga Lake.

I agree, for someone who loves roller coasters, there isn't a better place in the world than Cedar Point. I go there and ride coasters all day, forget the other stuff.
Kings Island is okay, I do love the Beast and Son of Beast, but then it's all downhill from there. Outer Limits is pretty good, and I guess this new ride may be fun, but it still doesn't compare to Cedar Point.

Completely 100% agree. It just doesn't get any better. I'm already counting down the days until we go back for Halloweekends. lol.

Millenium Force at Cedar Point and Superman at Six Flags Great America in New Jersey (I believe, not sure) are almost carbon copies. It's the same type of ride. Huge drops, long ride, no loops. Sort've like Kingda Ka in SF and Top Thrill Dragster in Cedar Point. The Superman that lays flat is a different ride, in Atlanta maybe? That could be where the confusion with the Supermans are coming from.
I just got back from CP last Thursday. We left Monday the 14th, and went to the park on the 15th and 16th. When were you there?
I ended up getting six rides on Millenium altogether, including the last train of the night both nights I was there. Pretty lucky.

This ride will make Kings Island some what better it has been a few years since they have added a really good ride. I agree that now that CP bought the rights to KI that it will slowly make progress to be a better park over the next few years. If they begin to go at the rate that CP goes at then they will be getting a really good ride about every other year. CP by far is the best place I have ever had the chance to go to, they have the best rides and due to that often the lines are not as long as other parks. This new ride will def. spark some new intrest by alot of people bringing KI's revenue up from previous years IMO.

Dragster is not a long ride at all, it is only about 30 seconds. It does have one HUGE drop, though. If it lasted longer, it would be a much better ride, but as it is I would have to put it a distant 3rd best at CP, behind MF and Raptor, maybe even 4th behind Magnum.

I've been to both and the best part about cedar point is driving across the little two lane road on lake erie to get there. Cedar Point got a new ride called Maverick, it should be opend in June. Cedar Point is by far the best one I've been to, I really hope to go back soon.

Mine are MF, Raptor, Magnum, then probably Dragster (trust me if you have experienced the amount of time I have waiting in line to ride that freaking thing just because it is shut down...ERRRRRR..it is frustrating just thinking about it), then Wicked Twister, Mean Streak, and Mantis (I hate mantis because it has now prevented me from having children)
I am sure this would change if I could ride Maverick! It was closed last week when I went and will not be open til June.

I maybe going to King's Island in a couple of weeks. I will hopefully ride Firehawk then and say whether it is better than Flight of Fear and Vortex (I don't think it will beat Beast and Son of Beast)

When I checked KI's website they said SOB was currently closed.

It was established in the posts above yours, which you apparently didn't read, that the Superman ride is at Six Flags Great America.

IMO, Son of Beast is overrated! My boyfriend and I went to KI last year, a couple of weeks before someone was killed on it, and when we rode it it was painful. He had bruises in perfectly round circles all down his back from the screws in the harness.
I've never been to Cedar Point, but I hope I get to go sometime.
We're planning another KI trip this summer, so I definitely plan on riding the new coaster. I'll let everyone know how it is. But, IMO, Face-Off is the best, smoothest coaster at KI.

I rode SOB when it first opened and I have to agree that it will beat you up as a passenger. The sides of my knees were bruised from hitting the lap bars. Very jerky.
What's this about someone getting killed on Son of Beast?

I actually really liked Son of Beast, it was very fast and yeah, a little bit rough (although I didn't get any bruises). I heard that they took out the looping portion, since it was the part of the ride that was causing all the problems. It's unfortunate that it is closed right now, but I have heard countless stories from friends who went to Kings Island and SOB ended up being closed that day. I'm glad that the times I went after it was built, it was always open, although I haven't been in a while.
I will agree that Face-Off may be a smooth ride, but in my opinion it was very boring. I don't even ride it when I go there. In my book, I would rate the rides there as:
1) Beast
2) Son of Beast
3) Outer Limits
4) Vortex
5) everything else
I may be going there later this summer, so hopefully I will get to try the new ride!

I think that after riding Firehawk my list will be altered a little bit. I believe that Beast and Son of Beast will still be 1 and 2 then firehawk 3 ahead of Vortex and Outer Limits.
As far as Cedar Point goes. After riding Maverick I think mine will end up being MF, Raptor, Maverick, Magnum, Dragster, Mean Streak, Mantis

I know it. I've ridden them about 12 or more times each. lol
I meant in comparision to each other.
Millenium = Superman. I mean that these two where the same ride basically. Huge drop, and long ride.
and Top Thrill Dragster = Kingda Ka.
Trust me, if I don't know anything else, I can rattle off CP stats like none other.

Kinda sad.
